And wasn't the old logo so much cooler looking as well as the old hats and uniforms?:

At least now the name has alliteration going for it. I can kinda see the city's point in demanding the change because of taxpayer money going to the new stadium.
The new logo and uniforms are horrendous.

Miami-Dade County Marlins would be better.

No, I prefer Miami Marlins, cooler name and more fitting with them playing in downtown Miami.

Pretty indifferent towards the name, but I agree that the old logo and unis were better.

The new logo and uniforms are horrendous. The stadium is quite the eye sore as well I think it looks good from the outside, but it looks depressingly dark inside. It's South Beach ffs, not Anchorage Alaska. As for the unis/logos, keep the Miami & just stick M's on all the Florida Marlins swag. It was top 5 looks in MLB, now it's bottom 3.

I don't know about "much better." "Slightly different" would be a better descriptor. Preferred the old logo though.
We have a similar thing in Australia with a couple of teams. The North Melbourne Kangaroos became the Victorian Kangaroos and then just the Kangaroos. No one cared. Also the Eastern Suburbs Roosters became the Sydney Roosters. That was a good change as the old name sounded like a conglomerate in a city based ametuer league rather than a professional team in a national competition.

The Montreal Expos is even a better name for their team.
