PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES (1987)It's got so many great, quotable, laugh out loud scenes in it and several involve eating or total strangers sharing a motel room. The only clips "they" ever seem to show are the airport rant and the "pillows". There is just so much more to this film !

Cool little horror film, Splinter (2008), is set at a gas station.
There's a memorable scene in The Vanishing (1993) set at a gas station...or maybe it was just a convenience store, can't remember.
There are also memorable scenes in both Wrong Turn and I Spit On Your Grave, both the 1978 and 2010 versions.

That memorable gasoline fight scene at a gas station in Zoolander.
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore takes place in a diner, and spawned a TV sitcom, Alice.
In From Dusk Till Dawn, the brothers hold up in a motel with a hostage.

THE BLOB (1958) ends in a small diner. We even get to visit the basement.
