I mean - there's a crack (fracture/split) so it's 'broken' even if it isn't a 'clean break'.
We hear instances of a fractured bone not healing properly and having to be broken again all over to properly heal.
Birds RB Jay Ajayi has a 'fractured back' - sounds fun 
Or do you believe in some situations you can play through a fracture - he wants to play this week. Alshon Jeffrey had a torn rotator cuff I believe early last year and played the entire season with it - it just required surgery at the end of the year (slated to possibly return this week). I would have thought it would have just kept 'tearing and tearing until the muscle was toast.
We've probably all heard the terms 'Sports Hernia' before - which some players have put off until the end of the season requiring surgery.
But am I off here thinking it's not smart to play with a 'fractured back'?
Wonder if those Le'Veon Bell - Eagles rumors have any truth to them.

I'm not a doctor. Not a fracture but Aaron Rodgers is still playing because apparently his injury has zero jeopardy of getting worse. If he were 24 & not 34, he'd surely not be playing.

I'm not a doctor. Not a fracture but Aaron Rodgers is still playing because apparently his injury has zero jeopardy of getting worse. If he were 24 & not 34, he'd surely not be playing. I'm thinking if I'm a RB and their shelf life is especially low - and DEs, DTs, Safeties, Linebackers etc are hitting me with brute force and there's the potential of 'pileups' with my own 300 lbs Offensive Lineman falling on top of me and my 'Fractured Back ' - I think I may want to reconsider playing for the foreseeable future......
Fractured back to me sounds like a death sentence.
But didn't Wrestling Olympian Kurt Angle win a Gold with a Broken Neck?

Tiki Barber played with a broken forearm. He just wore a soft cast.
Muhammad Ali nearly won a fight with a broken jaw.
Roy Jones Jr. won a fight despite breaking his left hand in a motorcycle accident weeks before the bout.
