In art, design, music, fashion, anything aesthetic. Not so much lifestyle. Personally I much prefer minimalism (Brian Eno over Queen, Mondrian over Kandinsky, Bela Tarr over Michael Bay) and these days it definitely seems a lot more popular. To the point where I googled Maximilist Art and it came back "Do you mean Minimalist Art?" So anyone prefer the Maximalist anything and everything aesthetic?

I am ashamed to admit that I have no idea what Maximilism means.

I am ashamed to admit that I have no idea what Maximilism means. I guess when it comes to art, it's pretty much the opposite of minimalism. The image in my OP is a good example. As opposed to "less is more", think "more is not enough".

Both can be good. I think of The Cure as a primary example of musical minimalism. A lot of the stuff I listen to would be somewhere in between though.

I've seen examples of both in artwork and can't say I care for either. Just give me a nice landscape...

The Cure can be quite minimal: but then there's: Music's a tough one. Overall I prefer simplicity but I couldn't get by only listening to Music For Airports and it's countless imitators.
