the writer's guide to poetry?
i wonder how many volcanoes feel the urges to read manuals?

Metaphor falls flat if you take more than half-a-second to think about it: volcanoes erupting are natural, poetry is art, and all art is artficial--ie, the opposite of natural. The etymology of art is even: "skill as a result of learning or practice... "human workmanship" (as opposed to nature)" Of course, part of the "art" of poetry is being carefully attuned to the nuances of language; volcanoes have no such concerns, so perhaps comparing bad poetry to volcano vomit is a pretty good metaphor.

emily was a shut in. and according to this board, should have been chained to her bed with maple syrup systematically poured over her body while ants perused her private areas. (which, come to think of it, isn't far from what it's like to have autism) except with my autism; i see beyond the silly restrictions of artistic vixens who wanted to romance the portal but were afraid of the chain reactions there in your eyes.

OK, that actually did make me a chuckle a bit, I'll give you that. You should do more weird, out of character moments like that.
