Her music is godawful, her singing cacophonic, a Faustian bargain might account for her success.

I got mocked for talking about this on the board once, but I still think there is something suspicious about her rise to superstardom. I never thought Destiny's Child was an outstanding vocal group, and of them I never thought there was anything outstanding about her. Of course, some are going to think I'm just jealous because my singing career never took off, and now I'm taking it out on Beyoncé.

But Rihanna is far better if you like that kinda stuff.

gameboyAgreed! between the two Rihanna is definitely the overall better singer. Beyonce is very overrated as her voice/songs don't match the level of her popularity. Beyonce is nothing special for sure.

Beyonce is nothing special for sure. I listen to rock or electronic music. So I can honestly say I had no clue what Beyonce's music sounded like until recently. I heard this song called "Crazy in Love" and was impressed at what a horrible song could become popular and it turned out it was her. Lol. In that song she yells more than sings. The music is discordant and just annoying, nothing catchy about it except that it sticks in your head through repetition. Now I generally like dissonance in music, it makes it edgy and interesting. But it just sounded like one big gimmick of song, no hook, like a woman shouting. I have no respect for that woman's work.

And Rihanna had a duet with Shakira Coincidence? Probably. 😸
