Saying homophobes are secretly gay is like saying white racists are secretly black. It's absurd and trivializes bigotry. I agree that it’s absurd to refer to them as being closer homosexual; though some, and by some, I mean and a small number of them, do frequently act homophobic in due a projection of their own homosexual OCD to kind of mask their symptoms out of an insecurity. If we’re referring to genuine homophobia, however, then those people do feel disgust over the thought of two men or woman making out, depending on the gender of that said person usually. Quite a few homophobes do seem to be sexually confused, possibly because their homophobia prevents them from experimentiny. I think that assuming that homophobia is caused by someone being homosexual is literally just putting a shield on the other issues that surround and cause it, typically set from social standards. By the way, Gameboy, would you say that most cases of homophobia are caused by psychological issues? No, that's why I don't like these theories that homophobes are suppressing homosexuality. It's not psychology. It's good old fashioned bigotry. You're right, obviously a few homophobes are suppressing their attraction to the same sex. But homophobia has been a problem in Western society for centuries. It all began with Leviticus in the Bible. Homophobia in our society is religious and institutionalized. For example, in ancient Greek and Roman societies there was no stigma on homosexual acts. Effeminacy was looked down upon, but any man could perform a homosexual act and he wouldn't be labeled or defined by that act. |

By the way, Gameboy, would you say that most cases of homophobia are caused by psychological issues? I am a former homophobe and I can only speak about myself. My homophobia was not a result of any psychological issue. It was based on heavy dose of lies and propaganda that I was subjected to and disappeared when internet became easily available to me and I could conduct my own studies in the matter.
That said I am only giving my side. There may be people whose homophobia may stem from psychological issues. My experience is that political propaganda and lies at least exaggerates or bolsters the homophobia in many cases. I have been 100% in favour of complete rights for homosexual people since 2006.

Pffffffft. The term is only used to justify homophobia. There is no such beast as heterophobia. There is no systematic hatred or oppression of heterosexuals anywhere on earth. And I don't know any gays and lesbians who hate heterosexuals. We all came from heterosexual families.If only they would acknowledge that they create homosexuals and not act like their offspring are wrong. Dumb f<>k breeders!  |

What's with the word "breeders"? The subset of gay porn where "straight guys" are tricked into gay sex. Yes, topless chicks are used as enticement. Yes, the "straight guy" is blindfolded afterward. And yes, it's faked. That's not what breeder means. It's just gay slang for heterosexuals who feel the most important role they will ever perform is shooting out babies. And I've never seen this gay porn of which you speak. And if it exists it's all staged with gay actors. No, not all gay porn performers are actually gay. There's traditionally been a higher price per scene given to guys who do gay porn versus straight porn. Its why I had straight guys in quotation marks. In the recent Grey's Anatomy episode a character makes a comment "That's just straight man stupidity" if you were to say the same about homosexual or female stupidity it would be considered hate speech. So yeah heterophobia is a thing.

My mother said she already pretty much knew, but I went through a dark phase and got very down, and there was no choice but for me to be open about it in the end. My father started to play this strange victim game himself and project onto me, and my folks can have a tendency to drag me and my sister down whether they are aware of it or not. It is about control issues. I was the one that was feeling oppressed by them, but my father was turning it around to make it about himself at times. It was weird and made it difficult. I then went through a, I can't have you near me phase, because of your behavior. This hurt their pride, and caused more resentment, but I guess I finally stood up to them. |
