One of my faves. Jami Gertz is still absolutely gorgeous as Star. I love the overall mood of the film. It’s fun with a little bit of scary bits, some body horror, great soundtrack, well timed humor and action pieces. Again...one of my all time faves.

It's one of my favourite vampire movies, and I forever associate this film with The Doors' song 'People Are Strange' (since it plays at the end of the film).

Such an entertaining movie. I love the funny interactions between Corey Haim and Jason Patrick at the start of the movie. And the Frog Brothers were hilarious! (Loved Corey Feldman's Stallone impression.)
In addition to the comedy, the movie has a fun feel of adventure, like when the group sneaks into the vampires' lair when they're sleeping. Great climactic scene as well. The movie did some fun things that I had never seen in a vampire movie at the time, like using super soaker squirt guns filled with holy water.
I had the pleasure of seeing this movie in the theater, and the audience was roaring with laughter at all the funny lines, like "Holy shit! It's the attack of Eddie Munster!"

Despite the idiotic humor this movie is quite good. 6,5/10

Never could warm to this movie. When it came out I thought the Lost Boys looked like laughable scruffed up hair metal fans who I could never take seriously as antagonists. Also hated the soundtrack with the exception of the Echo & The Bunnymen/Doors track. Never really bought into the Cult Of The Corey's either. Might enjoy it more now from a cheesy nostalgia angle.

Yeah, I think you would. I don't know that you have to take them seriously. It's super 80s cheese, but I've always found it pretty fun. Though, I prefer Fright Night.

Fright Night is also great...and I always forget the guy from that plays the main antagonist in Princess Bride.

Missed it in the theater but saw it on TV or video a few years later. Didn't think I'd like the film but was pleasantly surprised.
I guess my favorite line was, "We don't know which one is the head vampire. We'll have to kill 'em all. Start with this little one here."

Fright Night had the making of a classic the moment it hit the screen. The Lost Boys is a bit too slick and pop culture focused in comparison. I also prefer Vamp - 86', with Grace Jones. Haven't seen Vamp, I'll check it out.

Near Dark did virtually the same story better later that year
