I love when they talk to their a dog as if it's a child "Come to Mommy" ( ) and also refer to it thusly "I SAID COME HERE, YOU SunnUvABitch ! Funny that this appears as a thread because I observed this the other day and commented on it to someone I was with.

The dog in my avatar is actually my mother's dog, so that means she and I are sisters.

I grew up 'breaking' working dogs...like you would a horse.
Today, my Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog (the dog from Mad Max 2) is basically my Chewbacca. Most dogs don't want to be couch-dogs. They like discipline, simplicity, and having a purpose. They aren't kids, and the smarter breeds 'get' that and just want to be dogs...obedient, unselfish, but still...dogs.
Dogs are not kids. Though kids and dogs are both pretty fvcking awesome.

I mean I can see it being annoying but it's harmless. I agree. On the list of things to find oneself annoyed by, this would be at the bottom. It just means that some people love their dogs to the degree of anthropomorphism. Sounds like such a complicated word for what it means. I can say that I would take this kind of person any day over somebody who shows little feeling towards their dog.

Or people who refer to their kids as dogs. It is sad when a 30-something year old woman refers to herself as a "dog mom". I have a cat that died from cancer a few years ago but when he first got sick I dropped him off at the vet and when I came to pick him up the "nurse" (or whatever you call the assistant vets) said "Bill's (my cat) dad is here" and I really wanted to tell her how retarded she sounded...but I'm a nice guy so I didn't I just thought it in my head.

People like that should not be allowed to have pets or kids.
