With the exception of ANNIE HALL - 77' and CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS - 89', I have just pretty much realized that my favourite directed Allen films are the ones that he doesn't appear in—well, for the most part:
INTERIORS - 78' THE PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO - 85' RADIO DAYS - 87' - narration only BULLETS OVER BROADWAY - 94 SWEET AND LOWDOWN - 99' - brief mock interviewee presence
Perhaps I find Allen's presence can be a bit over-bearing at times, which may have tainted my opinion of his starring works.

Never really got into Manhattan. I can watch it, but it doesn't rock my boat and I find it a bit inconsistent humor wise. The first hour is more amusing. The film does look great though.

Been revisiting a few Woody Allens recently. Not quite the fan I used to be. I think I liked the purple rose of cairo the best of those I watched for the umpteenth time...

Hannah and Her Sisters and Radio Days.
Not a big fan of Woody, but I do like listening to the soundtracks of his movies.

I believe the image of the girl on the train, top right, is Sharon Stone. Visually, this film looks stunning. Have yet to see.
