Was not this "The two homeless guys given money by Eddie Murphy's Prince Akeem in Coming to America are the Duke brothers (Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy), who were conned out of their fortune by a different Murphy character in Trading Places."
also a "cinematic in-joke" much like the Sheen and Patrick appearances in HotShots2 and Wayne's World ? I don't see the difference as all three were basically cameo appearances for comedic character recognition effect. The difference is that the Duke brothers were meant to be, and conceivably could have been, the same people who appeared in "Trading Places", just as it was meant to be the same Charters and Caldicott turning up in different director's movies. I do not think Willard in "Hot Shots 2" was meant to be our hero from Vietnam and I do not think the Patrick characters were meant to be the same (although if they were off a robot assembly line they might have been identical). If you think differently, BAT, please be my guest. Thanks for your (and everyone's) input.

From the Trivia Page www.imdb.com/title/tt0107144/trivia?ref_=tt_ql_trv_1 Item #5 "Charlie Sheen's father Martin Sheen makes an uncredited cameo as Benjamin L. Willard, his character from Apocalypse Now (1979). He is seen passing Topper; they both say, "I loved you in Wall Street (1987)!", while giving each other thumbs up. RE: Wayne's World .. "During the Terminator 2 (1991) parody scene that has Robert Patrick reprising his role as the T-1000, the song "Time Machine" can be heard in the background. This song comes from the 1992 Black Sabbath album "Dehumanizer", which featured a painted image of a Terminator Endoskeleton disguised in a grim reaper costume. There was another reference to the Terminator franchise about Garth building a robot that was presumably programmed to kill Benjamin (Rob Lowe)." Mike Myers said in 2013 that he didn't think including the Terminator 2 (1991) reference would be funny, but that "people went shithouse over it." Game, set and match to you and apologies for doubting you. Apologies also to vegalyra for qualifying his sharp-witted contribution. I don't think it reflects well on Martin Sheen making fun of his part, and by inference the whole of an American classic. I should not think FFC was best pleased, but that is a discussion for another thread. As for the Robert Patrick movies, they can do what they like with them.

Rather than list a series of movies, I’m just going to jump right in and nominate Kevin “Moochie” Corcoran. He seemed to play the Moochie character in many of the Disney features. We lost Moochie back in 2015, though it feels like yesterday. Rest in peace Moochie. You were the rock chucking little brother from hell, but your contributions to Early Disney are not to be dismissed.
Kevin “Moochie” Corcoran in Old Yeller.

In Godard's Le Petit Soldat (1963), Michel Subor plays Bruno Forestier, a political assassin for a right-wing terrorist group during the Algerian War. Thirty-six years later Subor pops up as Bruno Forestier, the commander of a Foreign Legion base in Djibouti, in Claire Denis' Beau Travail (1999). It is quite conceivable that he is supposed to be the same man, although no reference is made to his earlier life in the later film.

Robert Patrick played the T-1000 in Terminator 2 and then played the same character in "Wayne's World". Robert Patrick also played the "T-1000" in "Last Action Hero" (1993) too... Sharon Stone reprises her role of "Catherine Tramell" from "Basic Instinct" (1992) in "Last Action Hero" (1993) as well... BOTH characters were seen coming out of the police station in the latest fictional "Jack Slater" film, that the magic ticket transports Danny into.
