Well deserved win. Very well deserved win. Good second half performance, although I didn't quite get the Naismith move. He's a trier but that's all. Brilliant piece of magic from Armstrong to set up Martin. Stuart is amazingly calm in those tight situations and gets his head up. I would not have been pleased if Gordon had conceded that goal. Should have been saved. I still don't think that we'll qualify but kudos to wee Gordon for having the guts to go the "Celtic route" in his selection. Charlie Mulgrew still thinks that building play from the back means trying to hit the opposing crossbar from 60 yards. That's why he is playing for Blackburn and not Celtic.

Yes, some toughies in there for sure. Now is the time for Scotland to turn things around but unfortunately their destiny really isn't in their own hands. Even with my optimistic (but, I think, perfectly realistic) Scottish predictions, Slovakia can still easily do them out of second spot. And Slovenia, with home games left against Malta, Lithuania and the Scots, have every reason to be optimistic.
10.06.2017 FIFA WCQL Scotland - England (1pt) 01.09.2017 FIFA WCQL Lithuania - Scotland (1pt) 04.09.2017 FIFA WCQL Scotland - Malta (3pt) 05.10.2017 FIFA WCQL Scotland - Slovakia (3 pt) * very optimistic, I know 08.10.2017 FIFA WCQL Slovenia - Scotland (0 pt)

24 hours later.
If, as seems likely, Strachan continues with the Celtic Six, then some thought needs to be given to the other 5 places. I'm not too confident of the central defenders. Slovenia made them look good but against better quicker attackers Martin and Mulgrew will get found out, but who else do we have ?. Robertson is a shoo-in for left back and that leaves 2 attack-minded players to fit in alongside Armstrong. Brown is playing more and more this season as a defensive midfielder although the BRodger has invested in Eboue. I'm not much of a fan of Snodgrass, Morrison nor McArthur. I do like Matt Ritchie and Anya who never has a bad game for us. I also like John McGinn and actually prefer Forrest playing on the left. Scott Sinclair has that position tied up at Parkhead but Ritchie is equally at home on either wing. That gives GS more options. If he is fit then Griffiths should be our striker. He can play the lone striker role very well. But plz Gordon, no more giving your favourites a game. I mean Naismith who looked every inch, the headless chicken in the second half..
