It's 2018. The Wahoo logo looks goofy/dumb. They should've gotten rid of it a long time ago.

It's fine but they should update it with a new Indian logo. I don't like all this crap of finding racism in EVERY damn thing in America now days. This hyper PC mentality is getting old...

I wasn't offended by the logo, but I do like the "C" logo on the hat as it looks a little more old timey and the Wahoo logo looked a bit dated. Makes me think of the 80's/90's era. I wish the organization would of decided on their own to retire the logo from the hat without the pressure from the PC police.

Anyone remember "Chief Noc-a-Homa"? He had a teepee in the outfield of Fulton County Stadium and he would do a little war dance every time a Braves player hit a homer (Hank Aaron must have given him a workout). Later, they had an Indian princess called "Win-a-Lotta" (stinks). I think the Chief was a real native. Deaf-mute players William Hoy and Luther Taylor were universally called "Dummy". Native players Albert Bender and John Meyers were called "Chief". And dark complected players Jay Clarke and George Cuppy were called "Nig". I don't think those nicknames will ever come back. That would have been awesome! It was. You could go get a picture with the Chief at his teepee during the game. Oh wait. You meant those hate filled nicknames were awesome, don't you? Damn bro.

Considering how goofy the logo looks, I find it is thousand times better and more charming than the original.

The other ones could have been any city, though . . . there's no special association between Cleveland and Indians.

Sports team ditches clearly racist logo... How the fuck is this even a dicussion𤷠For one, because the logo isn't racist. Well, or if we're going to say that it is, then (a) what definition are we using of "racism," and (b) what's wrong with racism in that case?

Sports team ditches clearly racist logo... How the fuck is this even a dicussion𤷠That's the thing. If it wouldn't be appropriate to have such a logo for a new expansion, how the fcuk should an entity like MLB keep allowing it. It'd be like having Nazis on a team roster, but teams no longer allowed to draft Nazis in future.

Interestingly, to me, the word "Indians" should be more offensive than the logo. The group is called "Indians" only because the explorers thought they arrived to India. So it is a mislabeling of many different tribes with one incorrect description.

The other ones could have been any city, though . . . there's no special association between Cleveland and Indians. Indians names after 19th Century Cleveland baseball hero and native American Lou Sockalexis "The Indians' official media guide says that the owners solicited sportswriters to ask fans for their favorite nickname, and the name Indians was chosen by a young girl who wrote to one of the sportswriters whose column requested suggestions. She specifically mentioned Louis Sockalexis and his heritage. A brief story in the February 28, 1915, issue of the Plain Dealer states that the Cleveland Indians would wear the depiction of an Indian head on the left sleeves of their uniforms to "keep the Indians reminded of what the Braves did last year." Sockalexis had died two years earlier." The Cleveland franchise had been named the "Naps" after their first great AL star, Napoleon Lajoie.

Right, but there's no special association between Cleveland and Indians.

As an Indians fan, keeping or losing the logo doesn't win games so I could care less either way. How about next year not looking like the worst division leader or losing in the first round so pathetically? That would be some real meaningful change.

Sports team ditches clearly racist logo... How the fuck is this even a dicussion𤷠Isn't your tiny little island still OVERWHELMINGLY composed of mostly white hypocrites? If memory serves it was only fairly recently that the uk finally dipped slightly below a 90% white population. I believe your islands enlightened response to that was BREXXXXXXXXXIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your ignorant inbred racist population was so terrified that non whiteys now made up a whopping 11% of citizens, they rushed to vote for Brexit which might as well have been called "Get rid of those muzzies mate". But yeah a cartoon Native American is much worse than an entire country backing xenophobia. Hey when you racists allow the population of Africans folks in the uk to reach 4% maybe y'all can declare a national holiday for being so open minded. Sorry to shove the reality of your countries abhorrent racism in your face but I have a problem with hypocrisy and the whole of europe is a giant cesspool of segregation and hypocrisy. Hope you are back on your feed tho mate. A hearty helping of sweet breads and jellied eels will do you up nicely.
