I like Sinbad films, The 13th Warrior, and the original classic video game Prince of Persia.
And The 13th Warrior was based on a book by Michael Crichton, who hated the Japanese and was a climate change denier (climate change propaganda was the premise of a book of his).
My fave author was a Catholic, very conservative in his views, but while some of his books featured Muslim villains, he did frequently state Islam was a peaceful religion, and often made the distinction between the peaceful Muslims and psycho madmen. The character Jack Ryan had a Saudi friend, Prince Ali bin Sheik of Saudi intelligence, IIRC. 👍

There are pretty extremist things in almost all religions. If you interpret the religion in peaceful way (Sufism for example) then it wouldn't look that ghastly. Islam needs an age of reformation/enlightenment. Y

Islam needs an age of reformation/enlightenment. Y I hope it is not boring if I repost stuff I have written on topic, however if I really have a post that crystallises my thoughts, it seems that it is relevant on many threads. Just posted on another thread about how Islam is incompatible with 'the West' ( by this I think the OP in that thread also implied Christianity though I might be wrong... |
