This sort of feels like a bait topic. The ID4 sequel barely exists but, for better or worse, the Star Wars films at least spark a lot of discussion. As for my stance, The Last Jedi has been the only bad result of Disney Star Wars thus far, hardly a sign that the franchise as a whole has died.

Even The Last Jedi had more good bits in it than IDR, and it was full of bad bits.
IDR was just a forgettable mess of a movie with so many cliches and illogicalities. You'd have to torture me or pay me heavily in order for me to watch it again.

johnspartan I usually agree with your opinions on movies, and I don't like the Disney Star Wars (I didn't even bother with Solo), but IDR was the only movie I've ever considered walking out on.

It should also be noted that Resurgence is far superior to the Guardians of the Galaxy movies you fools are so fond of. Come at me, bro! Dance off, you big turd blossom! Guardians of the Galaxy is the apotheosis of post modern space opera cinema; it's ambition is grandios, it's relevance Shakespearian. Let the great James "I like it when little boys touch me in my silly place" Gunn speak for himself:

I knew this topic wouldn't get much agreement, but I've always been honest nearly to a fault with my opinions. Agreements are nice, but I've never been afraid to disagree with the general consensus.

Bill Pulman's characters is NOT handled in a respectable way. His character is turned into a joke in ID4 2 and it takes away everything that makes his character so effective in the original film. He's basically turned into a poster boy for PTSD but done in an unintentionally hilarious way.
ID4 2 is a terrible lazy POS forced out sequel to an iconic 1990's movie. It craps all over everything that makes the original as good as it is.
It is one of the dumbest and most boring movies I have ever seen.
I am NOT a fan of the new Star Wars movies, but they are masterpieces compared to ID4 2. Say what you will about the screenplays for the new Star Wars movies but they have undeniably great visual effects, creative art direction and competent acting.

It was just as poorly written as everything else in the movie. His sacrifice doesn't eliminate how poorly his character is handled up until that point, so when he does make the sacrifice I didn't feel one way or another about it.

Nah, it was effective and no more silly than the first movie allowing the sitting president of the United States to fly in a dangerous air battle.
