Continuing with this month's theme of rating scary movies, next up is the 1965 movie version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music," directed by Robert Wise, and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The highest grossing film of 1965, 'The Sound of Music' also won Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director.

7/10. I don't usually care that much about musicals, but I like some of the classic ones like this.

A bit long, but filled with melodies I like.

B
It's fine. My older sister watched it into the ground as a kid, so I've got 6 lifetime's worth of it. Still, it's got good production & historical value for what it is.

Don't care what anyone says about "the sound of mucus" (Christopher Plummer walked back that remark a long time ago and happily showed up with the rest of the cast still living at the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2015). Brilliantly directed, acted, and sung, this story earns its tears and feels.
