He was calling for violence towards people he disagreed with politically. Fuck the dude and i actually support Marvel decision. First of all, he can't write for shit. His books are absolute trash. Secondly, he's a TOTAL asshole regardless of whether you support his "inclusive" political positions, which incidentally I do. Innit?

I cannot assess his artistic output, but his profanities against customers and his excessive political tweeting makes it seems reasonable to let him go. Like Johnson he essentially was a lightning rod for fanboy anger and he reinforced it. I hope he got a fair warning before they fired him though. I wonder if he is formerly employed with Lucasfilm too, or is he gone for good from the entire Mouse empire?

I don't know this guy, how was he a SJW? Not that I care but my "same for everyone bone" feels obliged to point out this has nothing to do with the MCU as he wrote a Star Wars book titled, "Aftermath." He does write an obscure Marvel comic that nobody reads called "Hyperion." Even so, that is still a comic and not a movie. Methinks this thread belongs elsewhere. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/m8f14k0ih/yes.gif)

Honestly I really don't have any interest in reading any of the "New Canon" books and comics.

By the way not only is he treating himself like he's some victim, but the ones who defend him, as well as James Gunn, are claiming that Marvel is siding with Trump supporters lol

Wait. This wasn't a satirical jab at Star Wars fans and SJW's? The author of this article was being serious? I honestly thought this was tongue in cheek satirical article. How someone with fake angst and rage would make fun of politically correct speech.

Wait, I'm confused. Marvel is able to fire people from Star Wars movies now? You are super-confused, yeah. Wendig was never employed to work on any "Star Wars movies." He was hired by LFL to write a(n objectively shitty and widely despised) book trilogy in their abysmal attempt to replace the EU. After that, he was hired by Marvel -- who, through Disney, has the current license to publish Star Wars comic books -- to write a five-issue series about some shit or another, but the House of Ideas evidently discovered what an absolute and utter prick he was on social media and axed him halfway through said run, thereby destroying Planet Druidia and saving Planet Spaceball.

Wait, I'm confused. Marvel is able to fire people from Star Wars movies now? I know you are being sarcastic because the OP takes every opportunity to maliciously, provocatively, and deliberately stir the pot on these boards as it were. Just in case you are serious (the chances of that is about as high as my chances of dating Scarlet Johansson) I am going to be overtly tedious as I over-explain. Marvel Entertainment Group LLC. a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company publishes Star Wars comic books. Star Wars Novels and Novelizations are punished by Disney Worldwide a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company and Del Rey Books a subsidiary of Random House which is a subsidiary of Penguin Random House Publishing Group. Chuck Wendig was a writer for Star Wars Novels and for Star Wars comic books. So yes Marvel did fire him, as Marvel can be used colloquially to mean Marvel Studios LLC. the company that makes Marvel movies (sometimes the company is wrongly referred to as the MCU which is the product or the Marvel Cinematic Universe) or it can refer to Marvel Entertainment LLC both subsidiaries of The Walt Disney Company. People also colloquially use Disney for The Walt Disney Company. He was a writer for the aforementioned Star Wars Comics for previously mentioned Marvel Entertainment LLC. Star Wars movies and the novelizations are made by Lucasfilm LTD. a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Technically you could say Chuck Wendig was fired by Marvel, Marvel Engertainment LLC, Lucasfilm LTD, Disney, and The Walt Disney Company. I've heard Scarlett really loves to read and hear this kinda of statements. She should be knocking my door down any minute now.

Well shit I didn't see this post until after posted mine. I didn't think to use Space Balls as a reference. After seeing you use it I felt like a moron for not coming up with the reverence in mine. I wonder if Scarlett Johansson likes Space Balls. I will have to ask her after she knocks down my door.
