Jah has been beasting the last 4 games with the Pels pretty much averaging a double double - but here's the key - racking up blocks too - so it appears as if he's actually attempting to defend.
Here's the problem with judging some of these guys too soon - see the 2015 NBA Top 3 - KAT gets grilled on occasion for just putting up shallow #s and the Wolves can't win - D'Lo was jetsonned out of L.A. because he wasn't deemed part of their future - and Jah was labeled as a giant bust.
Granted it's 4 games - but there are times when you put Okafor on the court on the low block and he's pretty much impossible to defend - look at how D'Lo is blossoming finally in Brooklyn.
Oak is never going to be a star in this league due to being an old school back to the basketball dinosaur and the league/times passed him by - but he does have a place in the league off the bench in certain situations dependent upon matchups. i.e. when the game slows down - when the game turns into a halfcourt game and you want to dump the ball down low.
Gives me hope for Fultzy
Need a bucket when the game slows down and can work the paint with his back to the basket if you're slim on shooters? Put Jah in the final seconds......
He's a smooth operator.....
Terrific 2nd Big IMO off the bench going forward - wasn't drafted for that - fine - but still has his place......
Sometimes in life you need to be humbled. Jah and Nerlens Noel weren't the stars they thought they were. Not respectable starting 'Bigs' in the league. But I'd love to have a 'humbled' Jah coming off the bench just for spot minutes backing up Embiid instead of a non-existant dinosaur in Amir Johnson who is shot. I noticed that the other day. Okafor is someone I'll always look up now and then, throughout his career, and wonder...

I noticed that the other day. Okafor is someone I'll always look up now and then, throughout his career, and wonder... Apparently he's battled mental problems - i.e. depression. Guy has all the talent in the world - was just slow on 'D', and was an old school '5' - league isn't about that anymore. But he still has a place in the league - i.e. 10-15 minutes a game as a backup '5' - was hoping he'd turn into a stretch '4' - but he'd get absolutely obliterated on the perimeter in today's game being he's too slow footed to guard even '5's for an extended period of time - and looks like he's stuck in cement at times guarding wings. But he has a place in the league. Just not a star or starter. Nothing wrong with that. Have to pick the right matchups/opportunities in a game to bring him off the bench and spot him some minutes - you can't roll with him as a 36 minute a game starting '5'. Went on a Vegan diet. Looks like a different guy. Got more 'cut' and 'toned' a bit. Hopefully he continues to succeed and stick around and his dad shuts up and stays off Twitter making a fool out himself for years.

Greek Freak vs. Westbrook on right now sidenote - Thon Maker has requested/demanded a trade from the Bucks. interesting - wonder if he'd thrive in another setting and I wonder what it would take to get him. curious to see what he's look like backing up Embiid as a quasi 4/5 depending on matchups

What is wrong with the Grizzlies? Giving away 25 points lead to lose a game at home? You got to be joking me.

What is wrong with the Grizzlies? Giving away 25 points lead to lose a game at home? You got to be joking me. They've been a weird team, at one point early in the year they were on top of Western Conference. Lots of in-fighting has apparently torn them apart, and they're looking to deal Conley and Gasol. Two weeks ago, I watched them play Celtics and they looked like a tough, cohesive team that almost won in Boston. Then they have a game like tonight at home. Seems like a pretty dire situation there.

Sixers vs. Lakers in a less than an hour.
Really curious about the trade chatter with not only AD going to the Lakers but...
If the Sixers really are considering jetsoning Butler (supposed to be back tonight) who in my eyes has turned out to be 'Meh'.
A very good player. They traded 2 'good' starters (Saric and Cov) for a 'Very Good Player' and apparently (what a shocker) he's not a personality fit and upper management isn't happy. You protect Embiid and Simmons first.
Guy hit two game winning jumpers - and again is a very good player - but isn't the 3rd Superstar I expected and has done '0' to affiliate himself with the city to get the team and fans behind him in order to get that max contract.
Gimme a scenario where he's involved in a trade deadline swap for say Jrue Holiday (may have to get a 3rd team involved as if they trade AD they're in rebuild mode) and you swap around trash and #2 picks to make the deal work - I'd consider it. i.e. Butler goes to a contender - future assets from that team and Sixers go to the Pels with filler - and Jrue goes to Philly

Embarrassing and thoroughly humiliating home loss for Rockets against a scrub team that was missing its major stars.

Embarrassing and thoroughly humiliating home loss for Rockets against a scrub team that was missing its major stars. Damn. Oak still beasting. 27 PTs and 12 Rebounds. Just saw D'Lo lit it up again too. nice to see the #2 and #3 picks in the 2015 Draft (who were considered disappointments) thriving in new environments right now.......still young and sometimes you just need time and a change of scenery or two

Kyrie Irving when asked about his future with the Celtics:
Oct. 4, 2018: “If you guys will have me back, I plan on re-signing here.”
Feb. 1, 2019: “Ask me July 1...I don’t owe anybody shit.”

If these were his actual words - I'd be fearful he just walks after the year and they don't get anything for him.
From my understanding - They can make a play for AD before Thursday - but in turn have to trade Kyrie; however if they wait until after July 1st - can sign AD and have both AD and Kyrie on the same team.

www.barstoolsports.com/boston/i-dont-owe-anybody-shit-kyrie-irvingYeah - just saw it on Cowherd. I'd deal him. My fears with the Celts (still think they may come out of the East) - is with the addition of Hayward and Kyrie - it messed with the chemistry they had last year. It's been over the news and gaining steam he has no interest with re-signing with Boston and AD has no interest going there. I'd swap him before the deadline. A team's fear is he may just be a rental and what would you give up. I think he ends up a Knick .....

Kyrie's gotta worry about Kyrie. Don't forget, he's got a family. And I'm sure it ain't easy to keep food on the table with that current paycheck.

I'd be like 'eff off dude - we did better last year without you'..... get a return for him at the Deadline - may have to sell for 50 cents on the dollar but it's better than losing him for nothing.

I don't want anyone on the Celtics who doesn't want to be on the Celtics. If Kyrie ain't happy potentially being a god in Boston, then don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. Personally, I don't think this current Celtics team can win a title without Kyrie, but they are 6-2 without him this year, and there's no doubt that guys like Rozier, Tatum, and Hayward seem to play better without him scowling at everyone. Whatever happens, happens. And as for other players coming in, that's up to Danny Ainge to figure out.

Anthony Davis Sr. - "I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas. No loyalty. Guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him. This is just my opinion, not Anthony's. I've just seen things over the years with Boston, and there's no loyalty."

He should better think about his disloyal son who in the middle of the season concentrates on changing teams than be completely loyal to his current team. One could understand if he played his silly politics after this season ended but the greedy idiot wants to change his team right in the middle of a season. And it seems to me that it's LeBron James who is corrupting these youngsters.

He sounds like Okafor's Dad who continuously made a fool of himself mouthing off on Twitter, making shirt with pictures of Jah, Moses and Wilt and screaming at Brett Brown 3 rows behind him. Sometimes parents just need to go away even if they mean well - kid is a grown man and millionaire - keep your opinions to the fam at Thanksgiving Dinner.
