If I’m reading Elton Brands response correctly, Ben Simmons did not contact the Lakers. Simmons asked Brand to help facilitate “chatting with some of the all time greats”. Brand reached out to Rob Pelinka to help getting in touch with some of them. Magic Johnson was apparently never specifically discussed between Pelinka and Brand. Maybe.
But ESPN's 'Around the Horn' just reported just like 'NBA: The Jump' that Simmons and his people (i.e. his agent who happens to be LeBron's) requested for Simmons to train with Magic during the offseason and Brand so 'No'.
Who knows.
I'm just curious once July '19 roles around if he signs that 'Max'.
If he doesn't and wants to go into the season and test the waters - it's going to be major drama for next season.

according to Brian Windhorst and relayed by Joy Taylor and Chris Broussard on Colin Cowherd's 'The Herd' -
Jayson Tatum wouldn't mind be dealt to the Pels for Anthony Davis.
Too bad AD has stated he doesn't want to play there.
What's going on - doesn't anyone want to play for the Celts?
Tatum, AD, Kyrie?

What do they do with Kemba?
Get a haul for him at the NBA Draft?
I want him on the Sixers

I read that one a while back. Yeah, the division seems very weak. I hope they can do a bit of reshuffling.
Even the Northwest division seems to be very weak although OKC and Portland have been relevant in recent years. I think they have very few titles together.

Linsanity in Toronto... prepare for the virals. This city was cheering his Knicks stardom at the ACC.

any predictions for Celts/Sixers?
Celts have owned them for the past few years (even without Kyrie and he's not playing tonight)
embiid came out a few months ago and stated - 'there is no rivalry' - hence owning up to the fact Boston has owned them.
new Sixers squad though with a new bench and Tobias and Butler.
latest line I checked was Sixers were 7 pt favorites.
game at 8 on TNT

they're flat. see that Tatum dunk? that was sick Yea, you're right. Celtics are gonna curb stomp the Sixers. But don't feel too bad about it as it is a spell, and nothing can be done about it. Every year Danny Ainge abducts dozens of homeless children from Boston's streets and ritualistically sacrifices them to Baal in order to keep the spell going. Unless Elton Brand is willing to descend to the use of the dark arts, not much else can be done.

Playoffs need to start now, there's not much more to prove for the East other than just don't get f'n injured.

In all fairness, it is the Sixers third game playing together. Not to mention that the game was essentially decided on a horrible non-call against Horford. Embiid should have been able to tie the game with those free throws. Why does it seem like the Sixers get screwed by the refs so much late in games. That Toronto game was the worst officiated game I have seen all year. That Denver game had the crucial no call at the end. Now this. It just seems like the Sixers get screwed. Still, I think this team will still beat Boston come playoff time. They have the talent now. You can tell they lack the chemistry, especially defensively, but it is coming.

I mean to ask would you say Hayward is likely to improve from here on and get closer to his former level?
Great win by Celts. I never doubted them.

I think Hayward has been slowly but surely getting better each month of the season. Even when he's not scoring, he gets boards, assists, plays hard. The points have been steadily increasing, and it seems his confidence as well. There's been more plays recently where he's gone high in the air for dunks, not showing as much tepidness as before. My only thing with him is he doesn't look like a guy having a lot of fun out there, he seems to have a pouty look at times. Not sure if that's just who he is, or if he's having a hard time fitting in with this team. When Markus Morris talked about teammates not having fun, I immediately thought of Hayward.

Reminds me of Chris Webber on the Sixers - always looking clinically depressed and pouty as if he didn't want to be here at all.
