Revealing that a dead character is actually alive rarely works on TV, especially if it's revealed a year (or more) after the death scene. MICHAEL's death had indirectly caused a lot of character development. Not, it's all gone out the window (one that PETRA forgot to close). All the sad scenes were a waste of time.
This would've angered me with any other show, but I'm also disappointed because it felt beneath this show. Look at the scene where RAFAEL is drunk and tells JANE to leave. JANE deciding to come back is one of the many instances throughout this season where the writers put the contrived drama aside and allowed the characters act like adults. Also, unlike the previous seasons, there was no antagonist. There were still villains, but they weren't a very important part of the plot. The writers had realized that the characters' personal drama was enough.
While I'm not a telenovela fan, I did think that RAFAEL was going to say that he and JANE were siblings. Before the characters said it I mean. I stopped thinking that when he had sex with her. Why did JANE kept thinking that despite the sex?
