I know the rules, but I could be easily thrashed by the average 12 year old player. Only time I win games is when I put the computer on numpty mode.

Yes, we might at last see a winner in Game 10. 9 straight opening draws is kind of unheard of in a challenge like this.

I had a coworker once who had been a ranked chess player - good enough for regional tournaments, but not for national ones. I will never forget how he beat four of us simultaneously and very easily - without even looking at the boards!

Does he play the Ruy Ropez opening? You're probably joking but that would the Ruy Lopez opening, a King's pawn opening. Named after a 16th century Spanish bishop.

Nay play today, it's the rest period, but the players are back on Saturday, slap bang in the middle of the 3pm EPL card and later set-to at Wembley. Pity, as I've enjoyed spending the international break following the games even though they've all been drawn so far and with just two game days remaining the match could go to tie-breakers on Wednesday, two days after the 12 full games have finished:
I'd f***ing love it if all three tie-breakers were needed.

One eye on Game 11. The queens came off early doors and this is looking like another draw.

A dull draw after just 135 minutes. 5 1/2 points each. The final square-up is on Monday.
