My father worked at the refinery Cagney blew up at the end of WHITE HEAT. Back then, it was the Mobile OIl Refinery at 190th & Crenshaw. After a couple of recent explosions, Mobile/Exxon sold it off. There used to be a MacMall Store across the street, but since I haven't seen much of the outside world in over three years, I don't know what the world looks like if it isn't on the way to one of my doctors.
One of my last trips out was next to the Alzheimer's Care Center where Dana Andrews was for many years.
