Whether negative or positive.
I think the most is watching Rocky, which makes me wanna go the distance. That feeling dissipates in a few hours, though.

Groundhog Day makes me want to be a better person and then the feeling dissipates after a few hours.

Whether negative or positive. So long ago lost that I've lost count. It's why I have movies, buy movies. Everything I own has something in it, even if it's just a line or a phrase, that affected me. My collection is like a file cabinet for my memories.

In Bruges made me question the stock I put in silly things as well. The lives of others made me question my need to be alone

Threads made me realise the devastating and harrowing effects of nuclear war. All countries should be disarmed of nuclear weapons.

No. I can't imagine movies have any significant impact on ones life. because while movies can make you feel good etc here and there, I can't imagine many movies effecting many people to a significant degree in a positive way. I would say, if anything, some movies can have a negative impact on some people who are a bit more unstable mentally. but then again, I can't really blame movies, because if it were not these setting them off it would likely be something else they see on TV or internet etc. but you get the gist of it senan90While that sounds good in theory, I can't see that being realistic simply because it boils down to trusting other nations which we simply cannot afford to do. so basically we will continue to have nuclear weapons in existence as it's basically just a precaution so everyone stays inline and then we just do what we can so that only the stable/civilized nations have access to them like the worlds super powers. but basically... as long as obtaining nuclear weapons is difficult for those uncivilized nations humanity will be okay. groups like ISIS are what we damn sure don't want getting a hold of anything nuclear because they have no concern for humanity at all and just destroy things since they are just plain evil.

As stupid as it might sound...Yes Man starring Jim Carrey. I took inspiration from the characters transformation from someone whos always looking to avoid new things and live his ordinary life to someone who cant stop saying yes to whatever interaction crosses his path. I started trying new things more often and not being such a 'nah, i dont feel like doing that' kinda guy socially.

I can't say direct change. I can say that several help me reset & reflect, my #1 fav Stand By Me most of all. I still only watch it 1-2x a year because I don't want to dilute its impact. Mostly late August near when it's set, when summer is fading & things need a boost.

I can't say any movie effected a change in my life. The closest I've come are movies that featured something I wanted to see in real life. And I later did.
Three examples...
Edinburgh Castle - Greyfriars Bobby (1961) The Victoria and Albert Museum - To Sir with Love (1967) Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming - Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)

Sulla I like those as examples of change … did you get to camp at Devil's Tower and watch the movie at the ampitheater ? Ultimate best way to watch it ! I visited Dyersville and the Field of Dreams site. I love that film and it WAS a magic place.

Everything I have experienced in life has made some sort of impact as to who I am right now. There may be no single moment I can point out that "changed" me, but I have to believe that I wouldn't be exactly the same person if I had never been exposed to the ideas presented to me in film.

I visited Dyersville and the Field of Dreams site. I love that film and it WAS a magic place. Yeah, I stayed at the KOA campground which was close to the tower. It's especially beautiful at sunset. I don't recall an amphitheater anywhere. It may not have been built yet. This was in the early 1990s. At first I didn't like Field of Dreams much, but over the years I grew to like it more. I'll visit the site if I ever pass near there again.

The Agony and the Ecstasy made me see that artist and social dysfunction often goes with the territory.
Raphael: For what is an artist in this world but a servant, a lackey for the rich and powerful? Before we even begin to work, to feed this craving of ours, we must find a patron, a rich man of affairs, or a merchant, or a prince or... a Pope. We must bow, fawn, kiss hands to be able to do the things we must do or die. We are harlots always peddling beauty at the doorsteps of the mighty.
Michelangelo: If it comes to that, I won't be an artist.
Raphael: You'll always be an artist. You have no choice.

Sulla There is a small National Park Service campground right in the park at Devil's Tower .. when I was there, they showed the movie on a screen at the ampitheater and you could see the real Tower in the background .. AWESOME ! PLUS it only cost about $4 a night to camp! I have not checked lately on the Dyersville site as to whether or not they sill play weekend ballgames there and allow visitors.
