Even if they were hostile I doubt there's anything we could do to fight them off. I think they'd scan us real quick and then take off to study their findings.

They would probably encounter wild animals first seeing as they're everywhere while we're either indoors &/or near urban centres.
Maybe they've already visited, tried to touch some raccoons or monkeys, got bit, & took off forever.
