At Steeplechase (The Funny Place ) in Coney Island they had a very tall ladder with a box on the top and a sign that said … "see the red bats"... so climb the ladder we did and .... yep ! Got someone every time

The Bat (1959). I had never seen this movie until I bought a three-feature Vincent Price DVD during a sale on Amazon.com. It's actually a pretty good thriller/murder mystery.
If I had waited a few years, I could have watched it for free on Youtube:

It's a little hard to tell in the screen cap, but it's the bat scene in Goonies. "RABIES!!!!"

I know Primemovermithrax Pejorative already mentioned Mark of the Vampire, but I have to add this other, er, bat from it: _________________ The Lost Weekend, 1945 _________________ The Great Mouse Detective, 1986 (this scene scared the pants off any kids who saw it, yours truly included) _________________ Anastasia, 1997 _________________ And, as we’ve already mentioned bats that aren’t Chiroptera… “See and swing away.”
