We have heard of the fame of these two great movies even far away in CHAD, where I am President, but I must say I prefer All About Eve. Excellent performance from Bette Davis. I would not have wanted her to be part of my harem in CHAD, though, she would have caused too much trouble.Yes, it would become a bumpy night. Not in a good way, though.

Yes, it would become a bumpy night. Not in a good way, though. Hang onto your seat belt oh venerable one and you should get through the ride. She might even introduce you to Ms. Monroe.

You stick to my advise and you will be President for a long, long time.

Sunset Blvd. - 9/10 All About Eve - 7.5/10
I like the story and the style much better, though All About Eve is a good movie too and I'd even say it has the more interesting characters.

Sunset Blvd. - 9/10All About Eve - 7.5/10 I like the story and the style much better, though All About Eve is a good movie too and I'd even say it has the more interesting characters. That is an excellent point to bring up, in with contrast to the presentation of SB. It is the characters that elevate Eve to the film that it is. The stories also have similar parallels, I would say though, more might find Sunset more easily accessible to watch as a whole, as an old movie.
Eve has a more functional presentation, that doesn't really care so much about what it looks like aesthetically, than as how it plays out it's melodrama with biting wit and even satire. Eve makes me focus or hone in on the characters and its story without other cinematic distraction. Because it is so well written and performed, its lack of stylistic presentation is in a sense rendered moot.
