AMERICAN SNIPER (2015) 5/5.
An American biographical film, based loosely on the personal memoir of Chris Kyle, written by him, with Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice. It’s a drama and a war film, directed by Clint Eastwood and written by Jason Hall.
It stars Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, Sienna Miller as Taya Kyle and Luke Grimes as Marc Lee.
It’s quite an intense and very watchable film. It doesn't end well.

I'm in agreement , ant-mac . It is a well thought-out-movie , and it's sense of realism and patriotism are certainly well meaning , and felt by the viewers .
If you like the theme of the movie , consider -
The Hurt Locker (2008) These first 2 movies , both by the same director are more thoughtful ,
Zero Dark Thirty (2012) introducing us to soldiers , and the view of these modern conficts .
Lone Survivor (2013)
13 Hours (2016)
12 Strong (2018)
I believe there may be some others that I don't know of . So anyone who knows of them , please let us know ?

It’s Clint Eastwood’s best film in years.

I've seen and enjoyed both THE HURT LOCKER and ZERO DARK THIRTY, but I've yet to see the other three films you listed.
Thanks for the recommendations.
