Still unable to "get over" the loss of his late wife.
He could do worse than talk to golfer Darren Clarke who went through the same anguish when he suffered a similar experience. and seems to have come to terms with his loss.

Erm A mate of mine hates Clarke.
He wont say why but he does(he used to play golf at amateur walker cup level) and is now a press worker for Golf - so he knows all the players.
but anyway - Rumours are he punched my mate in a bar - and to be honest he can get stupid when drunk - so........ anyway. Clarke was probally right too (disclaimer - this is 100% rumours and nothing I state means fck all!!)
. Cancer is a bitch man - been there 3 times(close family) , time is the healer.
BUt anyway I doubt Clarke and Rio move in the same circles. Family and friends get you through it. you need them. i have been there for others and they have been there for me.
I am sure Rio has the support.

Rio met up with Darren Clark in the documentary last night. It was quite good actually. Quite emotional at one or two points. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08kzclp/rio-ferdinand-being-mum-and-dad

My girlfriend kept tutting at that show. Why does he need to tell us about his experience. Most people keep that kind of tragedy to themselves.
Not sure what she could possibly be insinuating but anyway, I always avoid programmes like that.

Well personally, I wouldn't get on camera and do something like that, not very me.
But everyone is different, I reckon for Rio it came at a bad time, he was coming to the end of his career so apart from some punditry work he probably didn't have much to do with his time, the last thing you want to be doing is sitting at home all day thinking about your dead wife. Plus it is well known that talking about your feelings can be therapeutic and help the healing process.
And your gf was probably tutting because she was thinking "why did I end up with a bf who hasn't even got a swimming pool?". You wanna keep them away from shows like that painbow chap.
