Yes, but it's overrated as 8.0/10 average score @ #230 in IMDb Top 250 is a bit too high.
still, it's pretty safe to say it's a well known/classic movie and it seems many people are aware of.
p.s. I think a low-to-mid 7's for the average score would have been plenty. for the record... it's lost most of it's appeal for me at this point in time (I liked it more years ago) but I still do enjoy watching it enough to where ill re-watch it here and there as the years pass. so in the end it's Thumbs Up status because of that fact. bottom line... I give it a 6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up).

Wonderful film, a pure nostalgia blast with one of the most charismatic naturally talented actors ever. Seriously if this film was remade today, I would struggle to find a competent lead actor.
