Rams get on the board with a safety, they trail 10-2. Goff is incredibly off today, not having Kupp hurts the Rams offense, he’s an excellent receiver and his absence takes away a major option, and the Packers are playing very strong, aggressive defense. It looked to me like the Ram that grounded that punt on the one, stepped on the goal line.

Winston isn’t the answer period, he’s a turnover machine, has major character issues and he hasn’t shown much progress at all, this is now his 4th season, he hasn’t proven he’s a good franchise QB, he’s a middle of the road, inconsistent QB who’s most notable for being a scumbag. And Barkley’s shelf life? Seriously, he’s just a rookie. And I’ve already said they should trade OBJ for draft picks. However would you agree that the shelf life of today's RB is incredibly small? What's it in the 5-7 year range now? And would you agree that he's taking a ridiculous number of hits right now? Would you agree if they do pick a QB in next years draft that perhaps he needs to sit for awhile? Or would you throw him to the wolves in game #1 with that team? Why not take a flier on a guy who has disappointed but has a pedigree and may surprise everybody with a change of scenery (i.e. FitzMagic) To me the Giants taking a flier on Winston is 'no harm no foul' as you potentially groom your QB of the future. Or would you bring Manning back next year as the starter to 'mentor' the draft pick? If you had said to dump Eli in favor of trading for Carr, I could see that as a possibility. Replacing Eli with Winston makes zero sense. And if you're concerned about "Wasting" the best years of Barkley's career, it's a billion times easier to replace a running back than it is a quarterback. I don't know what QBs are coming out in the next draft, but if there's one that the Giants think can be a franchise QB then they'll definitely be in a position to draft him.

Rams have 8 points. Don't see that much in football.

He's absolutely great, but so are Leveon Bell, Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott, Melvin Gordon III, with some others that are good in the next tier down. QBs don't have to sit as long as they used to, so long as they're good to begin with. It took Goff one season to blossom once they got a real coach. Wentz was leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl in his second season before he got hurt. It can be done, getting a skilled QB while Barkley is still in his prime, they just can't miss on their draft picks.

Do you draft a QB and throw him to the wolves and start him Week #1? (I'm fine with that - but to call a spade a spade there's nobody out there I like - they blew it after the past couple of years) Do you bring Manning back again to mentor the kid? Or do you perhaps bring in a vet as a placeholder so to speak until the kid that you draft is ready (i.e. my approach with Winston giving up a 4th rounder for him)

Rams go up 16-13, very good game but surprisingly low scoring, I think Goff is heating up now after a very slow start, he’s been off for most of the game.

One good thing going for the Giants is that their current head coach is known for making QBs more successful. If they see "their guy" in the draft, get him. If so they'll probably be in a similar situation as the Ravens are now. I don't know what Eli's cap number is but I imagine it's high. But he's like the owner's favorite son so I don't know if they'd just cut him. I imagine that next season is Eli's last in NY.
