If he's a 'horse whisperer' so to speak - can't one argue he'd work wonders with Winston? It's possible, but why bother? They'd be better off drafting one this next draft. To be that 'vet placeholder' until the kid is ready And who knows - sometimes a change of scenery is good. Although Winston has disappointed in the grand scheme of things - he's shown flashes over the years. Who's to say the guy can't rejuvenate his career in a different setting/atmosphere - if I were the Giants and my team was in shambles with '0' QBS - I'd take a flier on him with a 4th Rounder while I groomed my expected QB of the future. Remember when the Skins drafted RGIII and Cousins in the same draft - everyone was scratching their heads asking what they hell they drafted Cousins for. Remember when the masses stated Nick Foles was shot? All I'm saying is Winston isn't some schlub from the CFL - he has a known pedigree. He needs a change of scenery.

Rams go up 16-13, very good game but surprisingly low scoring, I think Goff is heating up now after a very slow start, he’s been off for most of the game. Good game. Hopefully the Packers can take this down to the wire.

This is some achievement ...
"Adam Vinatieri, as he does in so many other categories, officially stands alone. But perhaps it was the record he broke today that will go down as his greatest individual accomplishment. Vinatieri today broke the National Football League’s all-time record for points scored, passing Hall of Fame kicker Morten Andersen’s record of 2,544 points he reached during his final season back in 2007. Vinatieri’s record-breaking points came off his right foot with a 25-yard field goal with 26 seconds left in the second quarter of today’s Week 8 matchup against the Oakland Raiders at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Vinatieri earned career point 2,547, officially passing Andersen, and cutting the Raiders' lead to 14-13."

Packers up 27-26 on the Rams now, both offenses are playing very well now, should be an exciting finish.

Very smart by Gurley stopping short of the TD. What an excellent player.

And the Rams get the win!! Absolutely stupid decision by Montgomery to run it out of the EZ and it cost the Packers, the Packers frequently do these sort of fuck ups and don’t even give Rodgers a chance. It’s truly pathetic how the Packers haven’t done anything to get great players around Rodgers.

Didja see how A-A-Ron threw that clipboard at the end? Will the Brady haters here jump down his throat like they do when Brady criticizes players?

It seems rare when an active player has already achieved goat status at his playing position. Esp when it's a less heralded position than QB, goalie, &/or starting pitcher.

Some things I want to note from the Rams/Packers game
1) The Packers Defense played a hell of a game. Sure they gave up points but keeping this Rams team under 30 is a big deal. They stepped up at times when they needed to.
2) The refs let both teams just play football. It had a real playoff feel to it in my mind and the refs weren't flagging any ticky tack fouls on either side. It was refreshing. I think there was maybe 4 flags all game? Don't recall seeing a single one for pass interference or roughing the passer. Seemed like a fairly called game on both sides. Saw quite a few plays from both teams that likely would have been flagged by other officials.
3) Jaire Alexander is going to be a hell of a player. He gave up some yards but damn, felt like Goff was targeting him on every play and Jaire stepped up on about 80% of them it seemed. His name was called out a lot by the announcers because he was constantly making plays near/on the ball.
4) Clay Matthews played a good game. So did Blake Martinez and Kenny Clark. Did a good job of containing Todd Gurley in the run game. At least until a few plays in the 2nd half.
5) The Rams got a couple lucky breaks/bounces today. The great play by Shields to down it at the goal line off the punt to set up the safety. Which btw, McCarthy is stupid to think running Aaron Jones up the middle into that D Line in the end zone was a good play call. Didn't even go with his power rusher in Williams. Also that deep catch Gurly made where the defender (Whitehead I believe) hit the ball with his arm and it then bounced right into Gurley's hands and he makes a hell of a play with his toes to stay in bounds. Hell of a player.
6) Where was the Packers offense in the middle 2 quarters?
7) Aaron Donald was disruptive as always.
8) However made the decision for Ty Mont to not take the knee during the return needs to be fired before they leave LA. Whether it was Ty's decision or Ron Zook told him to do it idc. Whoever it was, cut them or fucking fire them. That shit is literally the worst thing that could have happened to end that game and it was completely avoidable.
9) I'm also sick and tired of Rodgers/McCarthy wasting time outs. Sure could have used those.
10) I truly believe that the Packers would have won had Ty not fumbled. I'd have put my money on Rodgers to have gotten GB in FG range for Crosby to win it.
Ah well, Packers remain winless on the road and while I expected them to lose this game the way in which they did is just sickening.

Terrible pick six from Cousins there, just atrocious, Saints lead it 27-13, Vikings need to do something here or they are going to be out of the game with the excellent offense the Saints have, Brees has barely even done anything tonight.

Here is my recap and analysis of Week 8’s Games
Saints defeat Vikings 30-20. Saints are red hot and get a nice road win, they are a top tier team and they are playing very well, their offense is loaded with talent and their defense has improved a lot over the last few games, although they still have room for improvement, especially in the secondary. The Vikings played pretty well, Thielen with his record breaking 8th 100 yard game to open the season, but a couple of turnovers were extremely costly and swung the momentum in the Saints favor, and the Vikings were without some of their top defensive players in Rhodes, Barr and Sendejo, and without Cook on offense, they have a very talented team but they need to play more consistently.
Rams defeat Packers 29-27. Rams remain unbeaten and go to 8-0, they have the best and most complete team in the NFL, they are very strong and talented all around, after a slow start, their offense heated up, Goff with another great game, Gurley with over 100 yards rushing, and the Rams defense and special teams made some big plays when needed. Very difficult loss for the Packers as they played the Rams very well and could’ve won, but Montgomery made the stupid decision to take the ball out of the EZ and fumbled, and Rodgers never got a chance, Rodgers is a phenomenal QB, but the Packers have a lot of holes and they’ve done very little to improve the last few years, and Rodgers’ amazing talent seems like it’s being wasted, TD Packers are definite playoff contenders as long as Rodgers is healthy, but they have a lot of holes on defense and need to make fewer mistakes.
Eagles defeat Jaguars 24-18. Eagles get a much needed win with a solid performance on both sides of the ball, they have a lot of talent and are definitely right in the playoff race, but they need to establish more of a rushing attack and their secondary needs to play better, overall the Eagles haven’t played up to their talent level this season. The Jaguars have been the NFL’s biggest disappointment, their offense is lifeless without Fournette, Bortles is inconsistent and mediocre, and their defense is playing very soft and isn’t nearly as good as they were last season, the Jags still have an outside chance to make the playoffs but they need to turn their season around now or they are done.
Bengals defeat Buccaneers 37-34. Bengals get a much needed win, Dalton with a strong game, leading the last minute game winning drive, and Muxon had over 100 rushing yards, he’s become a good weapon for them, the Bengals are right in the playoff race and definitely have a chance to get there, their secondary needs to improve though. Fitzpatrick got the Bucs back in the game after Winston threw 4 picks, Fitzpatrick should be the starting QB going forward, he never should’ve been benched in favor of Winston in the first place, the Bucs have a strong passing attack and put up big numbers, but their defense is trash and they will not finish with a winning record.
Seahawks defeat Lions 28-14. Seahawks are playing very well right now, Wilson is having an excellent season, they’ve established a solid rushing attack now and their defense is playing better than expected, the Seahawks have an outside shot at getting a playoff spot right now. The Lions have a lot of talent but they are very inconsistent, they laid a major egg today, their defense has been disappointing and they failed to get any rushing attack going in this game, they have the talent to make the playoffs but they are wildly inconsistent and unpredictable.
Chiefs defeat Broncos 30-23. Chiefs continue to win and are one of the NFL’s best teams, they have an elite offense, Mahomes with another excellent game and they have a ton of weapons on offense, and their defense is solid but could still improve some, the Chiefs are definitely one of the NFL’s best teams overall. The Broncos have some talent but they have a lot of holes and need to start rebuilding, and they need a franchise QB, Keenum has become a TO machine and isn’t a franchise QB IMO.
Redskins defeat Giants 20-13. Redskins didn’t play very well but still got the win, Peterson with 149 yards rushing, he’s been a great addition for the Skins, and their defense forced a couple of TO’s and did a good job of keeping Barkley in check, and the Redskins remain in the lead in the NFC East. The Giants blew a lot of opportunities, they could’ve won this game, their offensive line is the worst in the NFL and really hinders their offense, and their defense is subpar and has a lot of holes and Eli is aging, they need to be rebuilt almost completely.
Panthers defeat Ravens 36-21. Panthers with an impressive win, dominant on both sides of the ball, Cam with a nice game and the Panthers defense did a good job of slowing down Flacco and the Ravens offense, the Panthers are a strong team on both sides of the ball and are definite playoff contenders. The Ravens with a lifeless outing, they played very poorly on both sides of the ball, they have talent but they are not consistent and I don’t think their offense is good enough to compete with top level teams, they still have a chance at making the playoffs though.
Steelers defeat Browns 33-18. Steelers are playing very well right now, their offense is strong, Connor has done a great job out of the backfield replacing Bell to go along with their strong passing attack, and their defense is decent, they are the frontrunners in the AFC North. The Browns are a much improved team, but they don’t have enough talent to compete with the elite’s top tier teams and their defense still needs improvement.
Bears defeat Jets 24-10. Bears with a solid win as they dominate the Jets on both sides of the ball, and they are now leading a wide open NFC North, it will be interesting to see how the Bears do going down the stretch but they have talent. Jets still have a lot of work to do on both sides of the balk but they finally have a franchise QB and are improving.
Cardinals defeat 49ers 18-15. Cardinals get their second win of the season, with both wins coming against the Niners, they could have a couple of more wins and they will play better as the season goes on and Rosen gets more experience, they are going up IMO. The Niners season was over when they lost Garappolo, and they need to just focus on improving for 2019.
Colts defeat Raiders 42-28. Colts get their second straight win behind a solid performance from Luck and a nice rushing game from Marlon Mack, they still have a slight outside shot at the playoffs given how weak the AFC South is, but given their weak defense I don’t think they will finish above 500. The Raiders are a disaster and their defense is total shit, they just need to rebuild all around.
Any thoughts?

Dalton drives them to within FG range in less than one minute. MVP...MVP...MVP. Imagine if Dalton had a real coach! I wouldn't be surprised in Mike McCarthy was coaching somewhere like Cincy next year. If the Packers don't make a good run in the playoffs I think his tenure in GB is done.

Announcers and analysts are blaming the receiver for stopping. Not Cousins for throwing that interception.
