In exchange for a 3rd round pick. Ok, I’ll take it. Better than a first for Amari Cooper.

I like it.
Wentz has some options now - Alshon, Tate, Ertz, Goedert, Agholor, Matthews
Josh Adams kid looked decent enough in the backfield last week - can see them running with a 3 headed rotation so to speak with Clement and Smallwood - who knows when Sproles returns
kind of more concerned with the O-Line and Secondary going forward

As for the other things you mentioned, it is what it is. I don't think you can rely on Sproles for anything this year, which is a shame. They'll have to make do with the roster they've got now. Maybe Rasul Douglas can give them something. He always seems to play decently, or at least mistake free when he's in, but they don't use him much. Hopefully the OL won't get Wentz killed.

Great move for the Eagles, I’m shocked that the Lions traded him for a 3rd round pick, he’s a top level receiver that has had over 1000 yards receiving the past 2 seasons, he is worth way more than a 3rd round pick, the Eagles clearly won this trade. Adding in Tate to an already talented Eagles receiving unit is a great move and will help their offense by giving Wentz another target to throw to, and Wentz will be throwing more this season with Ajayi out.
I’m not sure why the Lions traded their top receiver for so little in return, I guess they are just giving up on the 2018 season. Very poor move on the Lions part IMO.

Tate is a free agent after the season. The Lions have a ton of cap space this off-season. If Tate was going to sign somewhere else, the Lions would have to sit out free agency for the most part in order to get that 3rd round compensation pick for him. By trading him now, they get the 3rd round pick and it allows them to pursue free agents without risking that compensatory pick.
The Eagles on the other hand don't have much cap space this upcoming off-season. They weren't going to be players in free agency anyway so losing Tate to free agency will get them 3rd rounder (or 4th at worst).

They upgrade at a position they were already fairly solid at instead of filling any of their glaring holes. This is a desperation move.

Adding in Tate to an already talented Eagles receiving unit is a great move and will help their offense by giving Wentz another target to throw to Sure, another throwing target. Meanwhile they'll still suck at defending the pass and still be completely inconsistent running the ball.

Meanwhile they'll still suck at defending the pass and still be completely inconsistent running the ball. Except they really aren't. Doug is just allergic to running. When we run, we actually do a good job for the most part. I think our three backs are definitely serviceable. I did not want us to get one. Now, the secondary is a different story. That is what we should have targeted.
