Not only did this month past by ridiculously fast, but it just feels tiresome at this point. I was hoping to dress up for this year, but that got debunked. I am just too busy with life to get excited over a holiday anymore.
Anyone else feel the same in some way?

I do love holidays coming up in the next few months though (Thanksgiving and Christmas).

I'm not a child and I live in a country that doesn't care about this festival. So it's like, eh.

But then, it's not part of my national heritage.

I was excited at first but it fizzled out. Wednesdays aren't ideal for me as I can't watch tv on Wednesdays.
Tonight I watch the Raven and Comedy of Terrors to finish off, although I will probably watch the Devil Rides Out and Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell on Thursday.
But by then the pumpkin will be chucked into a bush.

I still get excited for Halloween, mostly for nostalgic reasons.

Well then what is your national heritage?

Well then what is your national heritage? I'm Australian.
So I'm buggered if I know...

I can still look forward to holidays, but it's hard if you have stuff on your mind.

I love Dia de los Muertos, a Meso-American holiday, The Day of the Dead. For three days, people remember their relatives that have passed on, they set up shrines with things that would attract their loved one's attention, fix food that their loved ones liked, and in some instances, have a party in the cemetery and believe their loved ones are there in spirit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_DeadMy heritage is as Nordic as it gets, but I love the idea of honoring the people you've loved that are gone.

It certainly sounds much better and a lot nicer than whatever Halloween has been turned into by big business.

Check out the link to Wikipedia I added to my post; they do a better job of explaining it all, and there is no commercialized aspect to it, it is simply about remembering the dead. I light candles and spend part of the time fixing food my dad loved, and watching movies my husband loved, and remembering cherished pets.

I light candles and spend part of the time fixing food my dad loved, and watching movies my husband loved, and remembering cherished pets. That sounds lovely. Every year on my father's birthday I buy a six pack of Budweiser, his brand. I poor one out for him and drink the rest. Well, I split the rest. 2-3 is my limit. I'm not a big drinker and kind of a lightweight. I was excited for Halloween, but my granddaughter is now going with her father. I was going to take her Trick or Treating. Much disappoint.

It's my favorite holiday just for the anti-reverence of it. It's less pretentious than the others.
