IRON MAN (2008) 4/5.
A highly entertaining American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck and Jack Kirby. The film follows Tony Stark, an industrialist and master engineer, who builds a powered exoskeleton and becomes the technologically advanced superhero Iron Man.
It's the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the screenplay being written by Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. The music was provided by Ramin Djawadi, the film was produced by Avi Arad and Kevin Feige and it was directed by Jon Favreau.
It stars Robert Downey Junior, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Shaun Toub, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L Jackson, Stan Lee in a cameo appearance and director Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's bodyguard and chauffeur. Robert Downey Junior is perfectly cast in this film and is the leading reason as to why it’s so enjoyable. It really can't be overstated just how important this film was for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Still probably my favorite solo MCU movie. It certainly got the ball rolling in an effective way.

Never liked it that much.
Severely overrated.

Still probably the best of all the MCU flicks—funny, fast-paced, interesting, well-characterized, parodic, and intelligent. Great movie.
