Three Halloweens ago I attended the unveiling of a plaque at the Exorcist Stairs in DC. William Peter Blatty and William Friedkin were there. When Friedkin saw these two girls he laughed and chatted with them. Note the pea soup stain around Regan's mouth and on her dress. I was able to get Friedkin to sign a still from the movie that had a friend in it who was an extra. When I explained the photo to Friedkin, he sat back in his chair and said, "Thank you both. Thank you both very much."

Never lived in a culture where it is popular but I hope this would fit for the occasion? I usually watch old horrors but in mood to watch something relatively recent.

I missed it this year but usually I watched NIGHT OF THE DEMON 1957--they don't have trick or treat action but they have a Halloween party with kids dressed up and being given candy by Karswell.

I notice that sort of thing when watching a movie from the early 70s and earlier!

BUT they are ghosts that we can voluntarily see when and if we want to.. so that's a GOOD thing !

So, in life as well as in the film, Douglas gets the last word.
