From your list I also recently discovered The Chromatics and Au Revoir Simone, courtesy the Twin Peaks return. The Chromatics "Saturday" featured in the series has become an all time favorite of mine. Just a staggeringly beautiful and simple piece of music, played it everyday for weeks. Other than that, just some newer albums by longtime favorites, Spiritualized, Dylan Carlson (of Earth) and Beach House Not exactly new, but not exactly "blasts from the past" and still active, I've been exploring a bit more ambient/electronic stuff, current recently discovered favorites include William Basinski, Tim Hecker, Autechre and The Field Tim Hecker - The Piano Drop

I am loving all these suggestions that these types of post give.

What did you think of "The Return", Doc? You were a fan of the original series if I recall correctly.

I think the Return had moments of brilliance ......and Top kudos for Lynch and co for going somewhere left and different......but A lot of the essence that charmed and captivated....if I'm honest , was not there. But I'm always of the view that something is always better than nothing when it comes characters and bands etc we love. Y'know...Floyd, Rocky, Stones.....whatever. It's a big ask for something revisited to be fresh and original. But again....the Return had moments of brilliance. Actually i still haven't seen the last two episodes.....that will be top priority within next few weeks.

I loved it, definitely very different, but I love just about everything Lynch has done, including the very divisive INLAND EMPIRE which season 3 was unfavorably compared to. I can certainly understand why fans of the original were disappointed though. You're (possibly) in for treat, I personally think the final two episodes of the series are among the best things he's done, pure eeriness and atmosphere.

BadBadNotGood has been the cresting wave for me. Consistently putting out interesting stuff with increasing maturity, for some young'uns.
Initially they were hip hop influenced jazz, but they're beginning to spread their wings now.
BBNG & Little Dragon - Tried
BBNG with Mike D - Coffee Cold
Gunshowers (Instrumental)
Their last album, IV, live
