Well I don't think we need this, but it wouldn't be surprising if it happened given the success of the first film. I like the first film although I think it's overrated. I wouldn't be interested in seeing it if it's really happening. Scott should do other films than make unnecessary sequels to Alien, Gladiator, etc. movieweb.com/gladiator-2-director-ridley-scott/ |

Scott should do other films than make unnecessary sequels to Alien, Gladiator, etc. Definitely agree with ya . If you look at his IMDB page he has soooooo many projects (either in the works/pre production) that sound a lot more interesting and are far more original imo. |

He's just returning to the well at this point between this and Alien: Covenant. Not sure why since The Martian brought a lot of good will back to him.

Don`t see the point in making this movie. It would seem that the tidewaters of that particular subgenre of blockbuster film-making whcih has tapped into the public's collective nostalgia has finally reached the shores of more prestigious filmmaking endeavors. We will soon see a sequel to Titanic where Jack is revealed to be frozen in a block of ice. Then a sequel to The Sixth Sense where it was all just a bad dream. |
