What still shock me about that is the french police never stated what they learned from the red car owner or at which point there was an impact between it and the Mercedes. It is know that the impact occurred before entering the tunnel but why didn't the red car (I can't remember the brand or model) stop? That guy probably saw it all, right before the fatal impact but somehow the info he has is not publicly known.
What is really sad is that she really didn't have to die... Her injuries weren't grave. She was alert enough to mouth to the bystanders "help me" and what'd they do??? Start snapping pics!! All in all: Queen put a hit on her. That good Samaritan law wasn't known to be needed until this time. True but the french emergency system at the time worked differently. They changed it since but back then they would "stabilize" the state of the person before getting to the hospital. Diana had 2 if not 3 cardiac arrest on the way so they stopped and brought her back. Problem is, counting the distance but mostly how much time it took to get her back and stabilize her, it took nearly 2 hours (I don't remember exactly but it was a long time) before they reached the hospital. By opposition, in the US or Canada, they would simply rush to the hospital (still trying to keep you alive on the way, but the goal is to get you there quickly).
At that point, they couldn't do anything to solve the internal bleeding since her state deteriorated too much over the lapse of time it took to get her there.
All that was described in a documentary that was shown last year, on french television, for the 20 years of her death.

John Lennon. I still find it difficult to listen to anything pertaining to his death.
David Bowie and Alan Rickman. Cancer has taken two close family members of mine in the last year (also far too young), and I hate, hate, hate this disease.
Princess Diana. I was no great fan of hers, but she was my contemporary in age, and I just found her death in such a manner really unsettling.
Ian Richardson. He was 72, but his death was sudden and unexpected, and very saddening; I imagine he'd have had some years of good work left otherwise, and maybe that knighthood he so clearly deserved.

James Horner - One of my favorite, if not my favorite, film composers of all time. Died doing what he loved, flying airplanes.

Robin Williams and Michael Jackson!
Though not a big fan of the latter, it was still a shock.

I also second Robin Williams. I can't say I blame him after getting a Lewy-Body Dementia diagnosis though. That's worse than death IMO.What a huge loss though. He was like the uncle on TV to me and millions my age who started watching him on Mork and Mindy and followed his whole career. That was the first celebrity death that felt personal to me.

I know but I'm not talking about that. When the crash happened she was alert and looking up at bystanders. All they did was marvel and take pics. Not talking about the EMS people but the general public.

Elisabeth Sladen ( Sarah Jane Smith - Doctor Who/Sarah Jane Adventures) Itβs kinda sad now listening to Doctor Who DVD commentaries in which both commentators are now dead (Elisabeth Sladen and Nicholas Courtney).

River Phoenix, he would have ruled Hollywood. He would be now what Leonardo DiCaprio is. I agree with this totally. He would have had a DiCaprio type career. He had already proven himself as an actor even at his young age.
