in his mind you committed treason by daring to have a nuanced opinion. Traitors in the own ranks get sanctioned or shot. Stanton was the omega who fancied himself an alpha leader - a nasty personality type in real life, the one who will pee in your coffee or worse if his will is not your command. Bon appetite. I never saw it. I saw how he wouldn’t criticise one aspect of the MCU, to the point of comedy, but he never got personal with me. peeing in coffee is mostly done secretly, and only exposed via hidden cameras when the whole teams finds that the coffee and other food smell suspiciously like piss and ass. Seriously, Stanton was probably more aggressive with the dissenting MCU fans - unless it got very personal and he started PM-ing or harassing opponents. Or when there was some misgiving on the other side he would open countless threads lording and sneering. He put me on ignore when I exposed on of his lies when he frivolously claimed he had never bullied non-Marvel boards (the fool did not know how easily you can access old thread data).

This, definitely. He was really aggressive if a fellow MCU fan had a few criticisms about one or two movies (criticizing Thor: The Dark World was probably his bête noire).

Also, James, I think your comparison to DC-Fan is apt—his and Archie’s goofball style was not that far apart—but I’ve never been able to figure out if DC-Fan is serious about all of it. (Sometimes—when he denies facts, posts the same thing over and and over again, or says Marvel fans hate U.S. troops—I say to myself, Honestly, this guy can’t possibly be serious.) Archie definitely was. DC-Fan is desperate. Archie was passionate.

Kind of like DC-Fan in that regard, except he’s not banished. Anyway, the only time I spoke to him was when we were doing those MCU film vs MCU film threads. All we were talking about was when he said “Spider-Man,” so I thought he was talking about Spider-Man ‘02. But nope(!), it was Homecoming. So I just questioned him why had he not said “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” or better yet just “Homecoming,” wouldn’t that make all the more sense? People are gonna get confused if they mistaken it for the original Spidey film. At least we sorted it all out. Yeah, no big hissy fit from him after that. Sorry to keep you disappointed.I, for one, am not disappointed. I don’t remember ever having a really negative interaction with Archie either (though I might have and I just don’t remember it), but I did observe how he started treating people towards the end. Oh, cool. I just thought you’d be expecting a hysterical climax from that story.

I never had an experience that bad with the guy.

You can’t have a great franchise with not even at least one bad/mediocre/average entry. PS I do like Dark World, but that’s just my opinion. As is yours if you hate it.

I think I wrote somewhere that I hadn’t, and then someone (maybe Archie?) started describing the plot and I had the golden flash of revelation—I have seen that thing, in theaters, no less! Tells ya how memorable I found it. Archie would have had me crucified!

Yes I know he’s an MCU fan. one of the worst kind really. Every time someone, whether fellow fanboy or foe, utters something slightly critical: I really miss that passion they had. I also miss them thinking that critics of the MCU were the crazy ‘trolls’ who needed to be removed from the board.

Keep in mind I am not aware of what he did to get banned. And what? How would the Admin know what Arch thought about AM&TW? I only heard bits and pieces but he had one hell of a meltdown after the release of Justice League (or was it Thor: Ragnarok?). It was almost a year ago. I thought it was because he had a meltdown on the Religion or Politics board and it wasn't anything to do with CBMs.

You all know I miss the guy! He truly was one of a kind. When I first encountered him he would jump on every post of mine that was even slightly critical of the MCU - which of course, he did to everybody. I found it annoying, until I learned to appreciate just how cartoonishly overthetop he could be. I then begin to enjoy his hilarious soapboxing. And, in "death", his popularity has grown.
His first temporary banning was for telling users to go F their mothers. And when he came back, he was quite vocal about wanting to get banned again, permenantly. So he began to focus more on his other obsession: religious people. And his fatal mistake was sending anti-religious PMs to posters from the religion board.
I still advocate for the return of Stimpson. I think the permanant ban was excessive and unnecessary. But alas, he probably wouldn't come back anyway.

The Raptor may have allowed Stansford into the Upside Down using fake papers, by way of a special reward for services rendered in the line of duty. the Raptor would have of course. The Darknet recruiters proactively tried to contact and PM JarJar Stanton for longest time, but he never responded. It was a controversial topic even amongst the Darknet fanatics (or Upside Downers) as he was generally considered to be a bit "off" and divisive and too much an alpha-omega. Besides, I severely doubt a clumsy troglodyt like Stanton was willing to go undercover in the Raptor's Darknet, to what end? And I even doubt more that he could have fooled anybody, this guy was completely unrestrained, it takes discipline and intelligence to stay in character. In the long run Stanton would have caused a Röm situation and a Darknet version of the Night of long Knives like in June 30, 1934. The best hint of his whereabouts were provided by you recently, he now dwells where the wild raccoon roams.
