At first, I was going solidly with the morning line favorite, which is very unusual for me, but ACCELERATE has always come through, and has classic distance breeding.
However, I'm old school, and my two top trainers are McGaughey and Mott. Shug hasn't anyone in any of the races, but Mott does.
Looking over, I had YOSHIDA as a plausible contender, and to finish third, but then I saw Mott trained him, and I had second thoughts.
So, my final picks are:
14 ACCELERATE 9-5 the real deal
10 YOSHIDA 10-1 Upset shot, lots of class
2 ROARING LION 10-1 Looks best of the three year old crop here, a top Euro import
4 GUNNEVERA 12-1 Dangerous closer a very good pick for fourth in a superfecta
7 WEST COAST 9-2 Tough customer
8 PAVEL 30-1 my future book choice, looks overmatched, but has maybe the best classic distance pedigree
11 MIND YOUR BISCUITS 10-1 Technically has class to fit, but is a bit below top ones
13 DISCREET LOVER 15-1 Could fill out high five
1 THUNDER SNOW 15-1 Most of his money earned in UAE which has overpriced purses. Still not out of the question
3 CATHOLIC BOY 30-1 Very improved 3 year old. Wouldn't be a huge shock
12 AXELROD 40-1 Parx times usually slow, and so he's better than he looks, but still needs much more
5 LONE SAILOR 30-1 Trainer Amoss a top hand, but looks overmatched
6 MCKINZIE 30-1 Tough to like this 3 year old, but many insiders have him as hot tip. A mob pick if he goes under 12-1. Should be well over 30-1 on form.
9 MENDELSSOHN 15-1 Total pretender here. Has done well against weaker.

Where are you getting those odds? The UK odds are totally different e.g. Catholic Boy is 13/2, not 30/1:

Accelerate won.
Enable won the Turf race to become the first Arc winner to win the race.

I had a blinding couple of days, 3 winners Friday and 6 yesterday. Enable obviously the stand out, history made, what a girl. Talking of great girls, Sistercharlie won for me yet again, she was the value bet in that race. I backed > 4:00 Marley's Freedom - 4th 4:38 World Of Trouble - 2nd 5:16 Catalina Cruiser - LAST! (biggest disappointment of the card, pissed because City Of Light won it after it had let me down last time!) 6:04 Sistercharlie - WON 6:46 Roy H - WON (no brainer to back for me, love him, won the race last year) 7:36 Expert Eye - WON (I got lucky here because I couldn't choose between 3 horses so bet on the unnamed favourite) 8:16 Monomy Girl - WON (another quirky sort that backers hoped would run true, it did!) 8:56 Enable - WON (have to say that Magical ran a cracker in 2nd and pushed Enable all the way) 9:44 Accelerate - WON (we all just hoped he would behave himself and not be slow away, he didn't want to go in but did and wasn't, justified being the long time favourite for the race) So yeah, made some very good money

Six in a row is impressive! How much did you win?!

Six in a row is impressive! How much did you win?! Only £188. I was only betting in £5 singles. Already had my mates going on about roll ups, Heinz bets etc, but I have been betting for 34 years now and never had 6 at one meeting, it's as rare as rocking horse shit, so I just don't bet on multiples at one meeting. It's depressing though, it would have been serious money. Nay mind, weekend paid for and I had a great time as I always do. As you know Carl, I'm not just a betting guy, I love the sport. Last night was a case where following the American scene paid off.

For today, Code of Honor. He's been running well all year plus he's trained by McGaughey and is a whiz at this distance. My top 3 will be:
Code of Honor McKinzie Vino Rosso

Got a separate wager on Sistercharlie, absolutely no value really but she's yet to lose for me. While I have taken an each way punt on Got Stormy in the mile race.

I gave a long look at Owendale but 1 1/4 is a tad too long for him. He's great as 1 1/16 or 1 1/8 but the extra 2 furlongs will do him in but look for him to be among the leaders for at least a mile.

I'll be watching with extra interest there now then It has been a most intriguing couple of days, with some surprises, and tonight is no different so far. My run so far > Girls Know Best - Nowhere Roadster - Second (if I had known it was a four horse race I would have left it alone) Nolde - Nowhere Covfefe - Won (just a small wager purely for interest, Brad Cox talked me into it!) Next race is a nightmare, backed Eddie Haskell for a win and place, but not a race to go big punt on.

Anyone who likes horse racing is supporting animal abuse. Animals shouldn’t be abused for the entertainment of humans.

Anyone who likes horse racing is supporting animal abuse. Animals shouldn’t be abused for the entertainment of humans. Thank you X. I totally agree with you! Even though I also hate horse racing the UK treats them a hell of a lot better than here in the USA. I dunno if you get HBO but the excellent investigative reporting sports series "Real Sports" did a great piece on this showing why everyone should be against horse racing. Especially in America where they drug them like crazy and MAKE these animal slaves run even if slightly injured where they may get more seriously injured and then killed. It is an abusive animal cruel "sport" that needs to end around the world. That even goes for where they make them jump. Sports should only be called sports of those who make the efforts themselves and by choice without being forced and without any abuse.
