Whats the longest you have gone without watching a movie ? Probably six weeks, when I did a job in Taiwan for three weeks followed immediately by one in Korea for another three weeks. That was LONG before Netflix and even DVDs, so there were no movies that I could have watched.

never counted, but I had media phases where i would only watch news, docs and occasionally a show, or when I did not watch anything for weeks. Usually a good sign that you have a life.

I almost went a month -- I was just in one of those moods... And I won't use the excuse of not having time. I usually wasn't in the mood, and the times I tried, within 20 minutes, I'd get agitated and turn it off. Usually during those times I either see something I have seen before that I loved, or something like Hitchcock, a thriller, lean scenes.
I haven't seen one in a few days, but have wanted to. I'm trying to avoid my laptop and TV (news)!

Without going too far back, I can list the following facts... here is the month from each year (looking strictly from 2012 to date) that I have seen the fewest amount of movies along with volume of movies listed in those months... -2012 = March (10 movies) -2013 = September (7 movies) -2014 = December (11 movies) -2015 = May (14 movies) -2016 = September (3 movies) -2017 = Aug/Sep/Nov (9 movies each month) -2018 (so far) = January (4 movies) ; NOTE: this is likely going to finish as my lowest amount of movies seen in the entire year. I am sure some of it is due to the fact I re-watched Breaking Bad/The Sopranos/Boardwalk Empire in their entirety (along with Narcos (2015-2017) for the first time) which cut back on my total movie viewing. in fact, strictly in terms of movies... only four months (Feb/July/Aug/Sep) so far have I seen at least 10 movies in each month as all other months so far have been 9 movies or less viewed in the entire month. so just given that info... from 2012 to date (likely counting years before this time frame to(it was around the year 2003 when the general volume of movies I viewed started to increase quite a bit)) it's less than a month for sure in the longest amount of time I went without seeing a single movie. September 2016 was the least amount of movies I have seen at 3 movies and that was most likely because I watched Dexter (2006-2013) from Sep 1st through Oct 3rd of 2016 (my first viewing of Dexter). but just taking a quick look from Jan 1st 2018 to date, the longest gap I went without seeing a single movie was from...May 24th to June 16th which is 3 weeks and 2 days. NOTE: I seen a movie on May 24th and did not see one again til June 16th. so I just counted it like that. bottom line... if I look strictly at this year (which is likely going to finish as the least amount of total movies I have seen in a entire year since I have been keeping track), 3 weeks and 2 days is the longest I went without seeing a single movie.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know how old you are but you really think you have NEVER went more than 1 week without seeing a movie in your entire life (or even if you want to count from your teens to date or thereabouts)?
I find that hard to believe if you count pretty much your entire life, or something in that neighborhood.
hell, even if we stick to say roughly teens and older, or if your old enough, say 20's and older, it seems quite likely you would have went longer than that without watching a single movie.
or look at it this way... while I don't know you, the odds are you went longer than that as if I just take random people who like movies and ask them the basic question of 'how long have you went between movie viewings', it's very likely the vast majority of them would have went longer than 3 days.

I am obviously not talking about my whole life . I'm only going as far back as I can remember an exact number. For the last 10 years at least, I doubt I have gone more than 3 days without watching a movie.

No clue. I'm sure I went a while without watching one when I was a kid, but I have no idea how long.
I'm currently on a streak of almost 5 years where I've watched at least one movie every day.

moviemouth Well, like I was saying, maybe not your whole life but lets say even starting from your teens or 20's to date if your old enough for at least 5-10 years to have passed. so I guess if your around 30 years old right now then you would qualify for that standard. but with that said... you can honestly say you have not went more than 3 days in the last 10 years without seeing a single movie? ; if true, I am impressed because it's not easy to hold that consistent level of movie watching for 10 years without having an occasional pause for something else to take up a bit of time (like say TV show/music/video games etc) before seeing another movie. jcush Hell, I am impressed as that's not easy to do as even doing 1 movie per day, without fail, for 5 years straight is difficult. like I watch more movies than most people I would imagine and I can't even come close to claiming that. although in terms of volume of movies seen from Jan 1st 2012 to date (in terms of first viewings or re-watches combined) I likely have plenty of people beat which currently totals out to... 1,715 movies and this does not count TV show re-watches like Breaking Bad etc. NOTE: technically, there might be a very tiny amount that would be a documentary but close enough but given your info of say 1 movie a day (minimum) for pretty much 5 years (lets say roughly 2013-2017 or so) that means you got to be at least around 1,825 movies which means, at the least, your ahead of me. because I did 1,715 movies but this is not far from a full 7 years of time (well it will be a full 7 years after this year finishes) which is 2012 through 2018. but come to think of it... given your info that means your at least 7.xx movies viewed per week for an average over the last 5 years or so where as for me looking at 2012 through 2017 I would be right around 5.13 movies a week average which I am sure will decline once I factor in 2018 after it's finished.

What reason would I have to lie about how many days I have went without watching a movie in the past 10 years? I would be surprised if I had gone 5 days without watching a movie since I was 20. I am 35 years old btw.
