If from now on, it had to be either always day time or always night time, until the end of times, which would you choose?
READ BEFORE VOTING: In this new world, somehow there would be no geological issues that would arise from it always being night or day. For example plants would not need the sun to grow, and the tides would not need the moon etc. So do not factor anything like that in your choice. Also running lights is free of charge.

Day. Because you could easily blackout your bedroom at night. And who wants to live in perpetual darkness? I can barely stand the early sunsets of winter.

Day is the obvious choice for most people. I am confident most people would choose day over night if it was permanently one or the other because it's the all around better choice pretty clearly.
but just to list a couple of negative things about night off the top of my head...
-Crime (criminals generally act up at dark) -Can't really do much outside without light.

Dayman (ah-ah-ah), fighter of the Nightman (ah-ah-ah) Despite being a total night owl, I have to agree with most here and say I'd prefer permanent day. It's more practical. There would still be some semi-darkness on rainy days so that's a reasonable consolation.

I'm a night person, have been from a fairly early age, yet I wouldn't want it to be dark all the time. The darkness of the night complements the brightness of daylight. It feels more romantic than the day; and also more cerebral. Also, the night lends itself to certain kinds of fun with other people. Need I say more?
The day is for being normal, doing normal things with other people. I'm not implying that night is perverse, but it's a better time for intimacy, for sharing with others; and at the same time just being oneself. I find that people who are more nocturnal more likely to be introverts; people who go their own way. Night people tend to be more interesting, based on my experience; while daytime folk seem to like to do what other people do; are more into hiking, swimming, biking, running and group activities in general.
I don't see any right or wrong in any of this. It's all a matter of personal preference. Day people appear to have the upper hand in the world. They're more "can do" than "do your own thing". It's the way of the world, and I can't see the human race drastically swinging toward more "nocturnalism" any time soon. It's probably better this way. Too much individualism in the world and nothing would get done. Well, poetry maybe.
