They thought the switcharoo would be edgy but nah. Still a good ep!

I liked it. I had a feeling they would pull something just because for months everyone was anticipating Marion's shower death scene. Interesting that it was shot very similar to the original with Sam's hand grabbing the curtain and then the close up of his face on the floor. Nice touch with Roy Orbison's Crying.

I liked it myself. This show has always been its own interpretation of Psycho and the character, it makes sense that they would remix it. I think it's good because it keeps the audience on their toes, now we don't really know how the rest of the story will play out, as opposed to expecting it to be a beat for beat recreation of psycho. Also, I am curious now that Norman has come to the realisation that Norma is not real, how this will come into play with Chick? Who seemed to go along with Norman's delusion to profit from Norman's psyche.

Yeah, I'm glad they stuck with this as being a retelling. I feel like it does the original justice.

It's an interesting twist. It works for this version of the story. I'm curious to see how this version plays out.

Do you know that there are people all over the Facebook page who still insist this is a prequel?! And they are really adamant about it too.

Do they have an explanation for the space time continuum that the show lives in vs the movie? The show is clearly not set in 1960, although they've created a nice atmosphere with nods to the movie's setting with Norma's wardrobe and the cars and appliances.

It's modern day, Norma and Norman simply prefer old timey stuff.

Although, as much as I bitch about remakes, I would not be opposed to seeing Freddie Highmore recreate the original film. I'd want a 1960 setting, though.

Right, so how do they explain it as a prequel? They don't, because it never has been and never will be a prequel. It's a unique adaptation of the story.

I'd want a 1960 setting, though. It's not a prequel. Because it's a young Norman. But there are just as many who insist it's supposed to lead into the movie-exactly. No matter how many times people say, the writers are doing their own story. They'll keep insisting otherwise.

It's definitely a prequel in their eyes and anyone who disagrees is an idiot for not picking up on.

Not sure how people can still stand behind that position now. I don't blame people who thought it early on. The show makers did copy the look of the house and motel, plus the network even referred to it as a prequel in advertising. Honestly, I think these things were done by the network to hook viewers (it worked), but the idea of it being a prequel was never the intention of the people actually making the show....

Dude, I was arguing with people just last week who still think this is a prequel. It is insane.

Then again there are just as many who were upset Norman started killing....because they never saw the movie, nor had any idea of the "background" of Bates/Psycho. They thought he would be a nice boy, & Norma-the actual Norma-was the bad person.

Well, now that Norman has killed Loomis, instead of Marion, perhaps the FB people will see that this is not a prequel.
