Oscar trivia: What movie has won the most Oscars (8) WITHOUT winning Best Picture? HINT: Among its WINS are Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director. SECOND HINT: It is NOT "La La Land" which won 6 Oscars without BP. Cabaret (1972)

The list of movies that should have won best picture is endless. Which is why the Oscars are a big nothing-burger (pardon my language). I would start my list with King Kong.

4 off the top of my head (from films actually nominated)
All the President's Men Reds or Raiders of the Lost Ark Saving Private Ryan or the Thin Red Line L.A. Confidential (sure Titanic was epic film making but did it seriously deserve all those awards?)

L.A. Confidential (sure Titanic was epic film making but did it seriously deserve all those awards?) The production values are pretty fantastic and Jim Cameron's recreation of the sinking is quite excellent.

True, I agree about the production values, I just don't know if it was up to the standards of a film like Ben Hur or Return of the King which it matched in awards.

Boyhood Sorry I didn't clarify -- they don't have to be nominees.. Seems like "Best Picture" is usually NOT the best picture.

Jaws should have won Best Picture since it is the best movie ever made.
