10- Brilliant 9- Excellent 8- Fantastic 7- Very Good 6- Good (High end of average) 5- Truly Average 4- Low end of average 3- Lousy but with a few redeeming qualities or particular scenes worth viewing again 2- Deeply flawed film with perhaps only a solid premise or ideas with potential that weren't explored or presented properly 1- Garbage from top to bottom, there is simply no explanation for the film's existence
Honestly the line is so fine as you get towards the bottom that I couldn't properly rate a terrible film. It can be tough to decide a 8-9 or a 9-10, but I usually have a pretty good feel for the subtleties between anything from a 4 to a 7. For the sake of the exercise I tried to define a 1-3 here, but anything under a 4 and I'm probably just going to say it sucked, don't bother watching.

10/10 - Excellent films. Among my top 100. 9/10 - Great films that I can see multiple times. 8/10 - Great films that I may see only once or twice. 7/10 - Solid films that I really enjoy but not ones to see again. 6/10 - A enjoyable/good film thats has flaws. 5/10 - Just an OK film that may be worth watching once. 4/10 - A rather poor film with few redeeming factors. 3/10 - A really poor film with hardly any redeeming factors. 2/10 - A bad/boring film. 1/10 - Awful film with no redeeming factors. A film I would consider to put on my worst 100. Pretty clear. I can see that how many times you rewatch a movie is key in your rating style. Rewatching a movie is a matter of mood in my case. Sometimes, I don´t feel like watching The Godfather again (movie that I rated 10/10), and maybe I´m in the mood for a popcorn or crap movie... just because.

10/10 - Masterpiece or near-masterpiece
9/10 - Really good
8/10 - Good
7/10 - Above average/Worth a look
And anything below 7/10 isn't worth bothering with.
