I just learned this yesterday, figure I'll share it with you folks. Something to think about as the Eagles struggle against the 'Boys.
The Flyers beat the Blackhawks at home yesterday. It was the 15th straight home win for the Flyers over Chicago. Pretty remarkable when you consider how good the Blackhawks have been over the last 15 years or so.
Matter of fact, Chicago has only won 1 hockey game in the city of Philadelphia since 1996......and apparently it was such a big deal, at the end of the game the Blackhawks were given this HUGE cup-like trophy that each Chicago player was allowed to carry triumphantly over his head.
So amazing was this lone victory in a 20 year period, the city of Chicago held a city-wide parade a few days later, where millions gathered to watch these players hoist that trophy many more times.
Says a lot about Philly sports "dominance", doesn't it?

I wish that clip was still on youtube.
flyers made the playoffs the last game of the regular season with an OT win against the hated Rangers.
against the Bruins they were down 3 games to none in the playoffs.
they came back and tied the series. they were then down 3-0 in the first period of game 7 against the Bruins - came back and won the game - hence the series.
the deciding goal in the Stanley Cup - in Philly - it was just awkward - nobody really knew what was going on for a brief second - cameras panned to a dejected Flyers team on their knees waiting for confirmation the game was over
it was terrific theater though.

I thought what was pretty cool though was the handshake at the end.
to me - this is the greatest tradition of all of sports. talk about sportsmanship
and listen to the Philly crowd goes absolutely nuts in appreciation of not only the Flyers - but the winning 'Hawks
terrific clip:

8:35 or so in this clip is a portion of it
what was worse was the '97 Finals when Rod Brind'Amour was crying - there's nothing like the emotion of the losing team being shown on full display as the winning team celebrates
gut wrenching.

I had a WaWa cheesesteak at 6am this morning with extra American cheese and extra meat I experimented a little and went with 'light mayo' and 'light lettuce' - so in a sense - it was a 'cheesesteak hoagie' gotta love WAWA ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif)

I mean, the Blackhawks actually won two games in Philadelphia in that 2010 series alone.
