Hi, Hi. As a Brit myself...most stuff here currently for me is interminable and galling. Reality shows, Simon Cowell feeds , miserable soaps, unfunny and crass attempted comedies.
Most 'soaps' [Eastender/Corrie, Hollyoaks/Emmerdale etc] are the absolute nadir of British tv ever.
Light froth like Tipping Point, The Chase, Pointless and Bargain Hunt are on if i am in and doing some cooking, ironing etc....but British drama...good heavens!!
Apart from our nature documentaries and Gervais/Merchant/Pilkington and off-shoots therof] ....we are in a sad and poor place. Quite like I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out 0f Here. Most of my British televisual treats are from the past and mostly currents stuff [particularly drama] is American.

My favourite at the moment is Taskmaster. There's been one series of an American version - shorter and sanitised - which was awful

Happy Valley was addictive, and so was Downton Abbey.

The recent miniseries Bodyguard starring Richard Madden (Robb Stark) was very good.

Victoria is the biggie atm. Just recently finished The Last Post (not bad but I can see why it lasted one season). Finally saw Richard E. Grant's The Scarlet Pimpernel series. Pretty entertaining.

MI-5 - very good show, but I lost interest when Matthew Macfadyen left
The Fall - only seen the first season, mainly because I like Gillian Anderson

I grew up on Monty Python but disliked the movies. And Fawlty Towers.
Then in highschool I started watching are you being served?, Red dwarf, French and saunders,.. Abfab came in college when I was better able to really appreciate it. The vicar of dibley, Mr Bean, the brittas empire, after college came coupling, Barbara, you rang mlord?
Nowadays... Really, I don't have time to find anything new.
