I pretty much followed all the ("major") pro and college sports (outside of soccer) for most of my life, but in the last decade or so, starting with the NBA (and most recently, MLB), have slowly lost interest in pretty much all of them, except for the NFL. Yes, I'll still watch the odd baseball, basketball, or college football game, but it's slowly become the exception, rather than the rule. Anybody else lost any interest in various sports that you once used to follow avidly ?? SAVE FERRIS

NFL for me, lost interest a few years ago for reasons I've droned on about a bunch of times on here before, so won't bore you again with the details.

NHL. I still watch the Bruins, that's about it. Honestly I don't watch a ton of NBA or NFL games that don't involve my team anymore, but there's zero chance I'm tuning into a regular season hockey game that doesn't involve the Bruins.

hockey.
I loved it.
legion of doom with Lindros, LeClair, Renberg - it was must see TV. just pure brute domination on the ice with finesse involved.
you'd watch that line get out their and just steamroll the opponent
I hate the extended divisions now with teams who aren't your rivals and the 1 point for an overtime loss is the most ridiculous thing I've heard of this side of a 4 Team College Football Playoff.
it's a shame.
there's nothing as exciting as an NHL Playoff Hockey game. especially if it's in OT. especially if it's Game 7. you're on pins and needles. there's nothing like the handshake at the end - after the camera pans to the dejected team who poured their guts and soul on the ice
gimme my old school atlantic back
flyers devils rangers penguins islanders capitals
5-5 OT - 1 pt for a tie. end it there. enough of the shootouts. 4 on 4 etc. I get what they were doing trying to draw the casual fan in. you also pushed the hardcore fan away by making it a circus and giving everybody a medal even for a loss.

NHL. With the exception of a few blips here and there, the Flyers haven’t been relevant in forever. I have no patience for a team that flat out refuses to acknowledge the importance of the single- most important position on the ice, or when they do acknowledge it they colossally fuck it up yet again and set the franchise back another three years.
Shame because otherwise hockey is probably the most fun to watch.

Crawford granted they've been playing better - in my eyes it's the League with the above BS I mentioned and they don't have a star (sorry Claude) the viewer can latch onto - i.e. a Lindros. it's my problem with the Philles right now - they don't have a 'name' - which is why i'm hoping they throw $400 mil at Harper even if 90% of western civilization disagrees with it - tired of piddling around in boredom and mediocrity which is why I have respect for what the Sixers just did with Butler.

Here’s the problem I have with the Flyers. For the longest time while Ed Snider was still alive they constantly tried to recreate the Broad Street Bullies even 20-30 years later when that style was as obsolete as a rotary dial phone. So now after all these failed GMs they bring in Hextall and want us to trust the process yet again? Thanks but no thanks. If Hart is the next big thing, bring him up today. If his ego is so fragile that early struggles will crush his ego then I don’t want him anyway. Every team brings up young players and many have success. Why Hextall is so damn rigid on his thinking I’ll never know. But his rigidity will set this franchise back yet again and I don’t have the patience for it.

NBA, I was a big fan in the 90's but it has become less and less ever since.

Baseball- hard sport to follow in Oz due to the lack of coverage. My team hasn't been to the playoffs for a decade either, which doesn't produce much enthusiasm. I'll check the scores daily but that's about it.

Hextall hasn’t impressed me at all so far because apparently we’re on the 5 year plan or some shit. That’s how you get job security, say we’ll be great a decade from now but you just have to be patient. Following the Flyers for an entire season is an exercise in bashing your head into a brick wall and then wondering how you got this concussion.

Hockey. The Sabres have been shit since they lost Danny Briere and Chris Drury in 2007. Got fucked out of Connor McDavid. There are signs of life this year, so I might go back someday.

Not getting rewarded for some of the most blatant tanking ever doesn’t scream getting “fucked” to me. They still got lucky in that Jack Eichel could’ve been a first overall pick in another year’s draft.

For me it's probably UFC.
I used to watch a lot of the events but then at some point, not entirely sure. It was before the McGregor/Mayweather boxing thing that I stopped. I remember McGregor being must watch inside the octagon. Only for him to return just last month and I just didn't care. I had never heard of the guy who he was facing and apparently he has become a huge deal but because I kind of stopped following the sport I wasn't aware of him.
I used to watch hoping I'd see Anderson Silva finally get beat and then he did. I did the same with Jon Jones only for him to then get suspended.
I will say that I do know for a fact that I hate Daniel Cormier. I hate his style of fighting. He's a damn good wrestler and he can just lay on top of a lot of guys and tire them out. It's a very good strategy but it's not exactly the most entertaining fights for people to watch. Now he's a dual division Champion, the face of UFC, and being labeled as an all time great? Meh, he's damn good at what he does. It's just what he does isn't really very entertaining outside of MMA enthusiasts. He's not even the type of guy I watch in hopes to see him get beat.
So maybe Cormier's rise in UFC is what eventually made me not follow it as much.

Boxing, easily. Back in the 70s and 80s, boxing was an event. Sadly, those days are gone. I'll still watch it if I come across a good fight, but it's a shell of what it was back in the day.
