Hey Hirundo
There are just over 7 more weeks until Christmas now and Halloween has been and gone and today was Melbourne Cup Day and sadly none of the horses I chose this year came first, second or third but one of our Sally's (our Malshi) horses, 'Vow and Declare' won 'The Race That Stops The Nation' and Beccy got her a Christmas chewie for winning and she was very excited over winning and I had her over in front of the TV with Occy and she was waving at her horse and I got her to do a cute little victory dance in front of our other pets after she won and she looked soo cute. I usually have good at the Melbourne Cup and a lot of the horses I have chosen have come in first, second or third and my Uncle accuses me of cheating 'cause he is jealous his horses don't win so he was teasing me on the phone today 'cause none of my horses won but one of them came in fourth so I was very close. Do you watch the Melbourne Cup in Norway and does it get aired over there 'cause we have horses from all around the world come to compete in it and it is the biggest horse racing event in Australia. A lot of people who don't watch usually horse racing place bets on it too and in some places it is a public holiday and people stop working to watch the race. Teresa Palmer has a new movie out this year called 'Ride Like A Girl' which is based on the real life of Michelle Payne who was the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup and the movie has been a huge hit here and it debuted at number on the Australian Box Office and is the highest grossing Australian movie of the year. We took my youngest Niece to see it when it came out at movie theatres and she enjoyed it and Teresa Palmer is such a good actress and is very underrated and if you get Australian movies in Norway you should definitely check it out sometime but I am not sure when it is coming out on DVD yet. Outside of American TV Shows do you get many Australian, British or Canadian shows in Norway and have you heard of 'Home and Away' and 'Neighbours' 'cause they are both Australian and I am not really a fan of either of them to be honest but I hear they are really popular in the United Kingdom and Europe and a number of our famous Aussie actresses who are acting in American movies now and singers started out in those shows including Chris Hemsworth, Margot Robbie, Melissa George, Natalia Imbruglia and Kylie Minoque and it is surprising how many actors came from those shows.
Have you heard the news about the new DC TV Shows? There is a new Superman TV Show on the way called 'Superman and Lois' and it is going to be a spinoff from 'Supergirl' with the current actor they have playing Superman now and there are three new shows coming on HBO Max and one of them is a Green Lantern TV Show and the other two are 'Strange Tales' and 'Superhero High' and I am very interested in 'Strange Tales' 'cause they are going to have a lot of superheroes and villains appear in it that haven't been seen in live action before. I am also curious what Green Lantern they are going to use and I think it would be fun if they had all of them appear at various points of the show depending on how many seasons it goes for. They have done that with 'The Flash having Jay and Wally and just have to have Bart and there are also rumours about a Zatanna show on HBO Max too and Zatanna definitely needs a new live action adaption and whether it is a TV Show or a movie I will be happy since she sadly has been wasted so far and is one of the most powerful superheroes in DC. Have you watched 'Swamp Thing' yet and what did you think of it? We are still watching it every Friday and love it and I love that it doesn't hold back with gore either and it is not overly gory but it is more gory than a lot of other DC and Marvel shows we have had.
We will be putting our Christmas Tree and decorations up next week and I am very excited over that and I am like your Mum and I have always loved decorating and I decorate the house throughout the year and we go to a lot of trouble with Easter too to make our house look amazing and it is always worth it and we didn't do it with Halloween 'cause we are still getting used to having that here and not many people decorate their houses for Halloween in Australia like they do in America 'cause it is only in the last decade people are starting to celebrate it and our shops are selling a lot of Halloween things but we might one day if more people start doing it. Did you do anything for Halloween and and do you have Halloween in Norway? Sorry for taking so long to reply to you, Deb.
We do get Australian movies here, but we usually have to wait quite a while (for them to be on DVD or on the TV). Yes, I like Teresa Palmer as an actress, she's very good, and I'll usually watch anything she's in. Yes, we get all sorts of TV shows here these days, not just American ones. Yes, Home & Away was quite big here in the 90's. Up until the early 90's we only had one tv channel here in Norway, and when we finally got another one -'91, I think it was-, Home & Away was one of the shows this new channel aired. There wasn't really much to choose between at that time, so I have watched quite a few episodes of Home & Away, I must admit. Yes, I heard about the new Superman TV show. I liked Tyler Hoechlin's Superman whenever he would guest star on Supergirl, so I'm glad he's gotten his own show. Halloween is a fairly recent thing here, too. The shops here have been selling Halloween stuff for the last few years, though, but most people doesn't seem to like it. We've never had any Trick or Treaters here, but I had some candy ready just in case. We had a little Halloween party for my nieces and nephew. They dressed up in costumes, and I baked some Halloween-themed cakes. It was fun. Three weeks left till Christmas! I usually don't decorate much or that early, but I've actually gotten myself a nice plastic tree this year, and I've already decorated it. Yes, Swamp Thing is available to stream here now. I've watched the first episode so far. I'm not that into it yet, but I'll be watching the rest of the episodes as soon as I can, and I will let you know what I think of it then. Hi Hirundo
That’s okay. It is nice to see you on here again. I hope you are feeling better. I had to get my Wisdom Tooth removed on Friday ‘cause it was causing me a lot of pain along with headaches and while I am still feeling a some pain in my mouth now it is nothing compared to what I have been feeling the last two weeks and that was a nightmare and I am glad it is finally gone. It was around exactly a year ago I had to get the Wisdom Tooth on the opposite side of my mouth removed for the same reasons and I don’t know why I had to get two Wisdom Teeth in a row at the same time of the year but thankfully those are the last ones and my two top Wisdom Teeth come through ages ago without any problems so I wasn’t expecting to have to get any removed.
Sadly there are a lot of things I can’t eat at the moment and I will have to miss out on eating some of our Christmas chocolates and lollies again but Beccy bought me some of the Christmas Krispy Kreme range on Thursday afternoon to have before I had my Wisdom Tooth removed and those were some of my favourites so I was glad I got to have them one more time. We are very close to Christmas now and there are only 17 more sleeps until the big day is here and we have all our decorations hanging up in our house too and and we have bought and wrapped most of the Christmas presents and we’re still waiting for two more presents to arrive in the mail that were delayed but we are ready for Christmas and will be having my family here for it and my Sister and I usually take turns having Christmases and Easters at each other’s houses and we went to her house for Christmas last year.
Do you like singing and dancing Christmas toys? We were kinda naughty and we weren’t going to get any other Christmas toys ‘cause we already have heaps of them but when we went to the Christmas Warehouse a couple of weeks ago some more singing and dancing toys fell in our trolley and we had to get them () and Occy and Sally love them and they love singing and dancing toys but we have to monitor Occy with them or he will shake them and throw them around. lol I am glad to hear you get to watch our Australian movies in Norway and while ‘Ride Like A Girl’ sadly missed out at the AACTA Awards this year it was the biggest selling Australian movie of 2019. The movie it lost out to was ‘The Nightingale’ won a lot of awards and is worth checking out and here are some trailers below.
Yes. I agree. Teresa Palmer is great in everything she is in and I really liked her Horror movie, 'Lights Out' and that was one of my favourites of the past decade and 'Berlin Syndrome' and '2:22' are two other recent movies she was in that I enjoyed but have you seen her TV Show, 'A Discovery of Witches?' It has only had one season so far and I don't know when the second season is going to air but the channel renewed it for Season 2 and 3 so we will be seeing a lot more of it in the neat future. Thanks for letting me know about the shows you get and did you get 'Heartbreak High' and 'The Secret Life of Us' in Norway? Those shows were really popular here in the 90s and early 00s and had a number of famous actors when they were starting out and I remember the actor who plays Heatwave in 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' was in that as a police officer in 'Heartbreak High' and his voice was a lot lighter and Joel Edgerton who has gone on to be famous in America was in 'The Secret Life Of Us.'
I am often recognising actors who were in that show in Australian and American TV Shows I am glad they are making a new 'Superman' TV Show too and it will be interesting to see what they do with it in comparison to past Superman TV Shows since this will be set when he has already been Superman for years and not another origins show or a prequel series like 'Smallville' and they have had Lex and Zod in 'Supergirl' and Lex is going to be part of the big crossover event this year but I am not sure if they will have Zod back and get the same actor who played him in 'Supergirl.' I am also looking forward to seeing how it will fit into the 'Arrowverse' with 'Arrow' ending and I think 'Superman and Lois' will take 'Arrow's' place when they have the big crossover events with Superman in Green Arrow's place too as one of the main heroes with Supergirl, The Flash and Batwoman. It is good to hear you have been watching 'Swamp Thing' and we just watched episode 9 of that and we don't want it to end 'cause there are still a lot of things they haven't shown and Abby is yet to get her superpowers and I hope she gets them before it ends. Did you know Abby has powers?
