I happen to know exactly where that church is, south of Springfield. I've many times visited a friend who lives in Springfield, and when we would head south to the antique stores in Ozark, we both would get slightly nauseated as we drove by that huge complex. She's an atheist, too. Hinduism pre-dates Christianity by a few thousand years, how can anyone think it has anything to do with the Abrahamic religions? Typical load of crap you run into in towns like Springfield. There are several religious 'colleges' located there. My friend, her family and friends are all agnostic/atheist, and watch what they say in public. She and her family were born in the area, and still live there because of their roots. Branson is further south, and the stronghold of evangelicals is growing, due to religious leaders promoting the notion that Branson will be a gathering place for the righteous during Armageddon or the tribulation or 'end times.' Scary sh!t.

Scary sh!t. Abrahamic religions denounce worshipping other gods except the creator over and over in the Bible. That is how. Are you denying that Hinduism has other gods,or are you denying the link between Hinduism and yoga.

Yoga has that in common with Halloween - regarded as something to avoid in various quarters of Christianity.

I love yoga. It tastes good, especially the Greek style. I try for the plain kind as the ones with fruit on the bottom have too much sugar in them. Now it's satanic? You can't have fun in this world anymore without someone raining on your parade.

I was once in a Persian shop and saw Persian style yogurt. I bought that. A couple of weeks later I was in a Turkish store and bought Turkish style yogurt but I got confused as it tasted the same. Same I found with Indian style. It seems there are mainly two types of yogurt - Greek style and non-Greek style! Okay, may be I am joking but they sell a lot of rubbish under the names of Persian or Turkish or Indian.

Everything is yoga. Yoga is unity. The pastor does not get this. Angels to some demons to others.

I thought its benefits were mostly exaggerated but lately I have witnessed cases which prove that I had vastly underestimated Yoga.
However, I think you are talking about Yoga as in a more complete philosophical sense. Yoga mixed with Vedanta's teachings is indeed thought of as a way to get rid of ego. But I don't contemplate about these things because I do not have philosophical leanings or ability to do yoga. I may have a mild case of attention deficit disorder. I am not sure.

Yoga as I know means 'union'. Everything and All comes together as one.
There are many benefits to practicing yoga and specifically mediation. It trains the mind, or can teach one to be more present, mindful and in the moment and even sidestep the mind, especially if what is going on upstairs is not relevant to the present.
Yoga has helped discipline me, but it is also a lifetime journey and the ego mind still wants to take charge. Rome wasn't built in a day and you would not be the only one AJ struggling with keeping one's attention present. I don't often think that it is healthy to label or tags oneself with a disorder like ADD. What if there is absolutely nothing wrong with you? Your mind is what is wanting you to believe this.

Yeah, I do agree that it is not correct to label oneself as suffering from ADD unless one has been diagnosed. I have myself said it before that self-diagnosis is bad. So I should probably visit a doctor if I feel so or just shut up about it.
I am glad that yoga has helped you. I have personally seen Yoga helping quite a lot of my family members and friends.

That is part of my point, even having a professional diagnose somebody with a disorder when this can also be a misdiagnosis and not exactly what it is, especially when it is born of mind. It also allows for people to make excuses for themselves as well and limits.
Yoga is also perhaps something I need to practice more often. I have been a bit slack lately.

Yoga is painful, yogurt is delicious.
